First real post, so I hope I'm doing it in the right spot.
I'm closing in on a blue milgauss. One question I have is about the lume: Is it the same color as on all the other recent, Chromalight-lumed watches (white, glows blue)? I assume the greenish color cast I see in photos is coming entirely from the crystal, and not the lume itself, but I just want to be sure. Thanks. |
I believe only the early models with the wide OYSTER PERPETUAL font had blue and green lume. Mine is a 2016 model (latest dial and bracelet) and although they do glow blue and green under a UV flashlight .. but are pure blue in the dark.

The lume is blue. I just got the z blue a week ago. The edges of the crystal shine like an emerald in the right light. Very cool watch!

On my list of watches to obtain. I love the green crystal.

I have a 1967 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss (Model 1019) for sale, if anyone is interested.
|
ive been looking around to learn more about this watch before pulling the trigger. i've read that the case back has a"B" on it with an arrow over the top. but ive seen some 116400GV black dials without the B on the case back....
does anyone know what year that was introduced? i apologize if this was discussed already. |

Go back and look carefully at post #6 concerning the "B" symbol. The symbol is inside the watch on the Faraday cage, and NOT on the outside of the rear cover. Only when you remove the case back will you see the symbol. The Milgauss was introduced in 1956. |

116400 matte dial, clear crystal
Was the "V" serial number last year for these ?
OR: when was last year of clear crystal Milgauss ?? Love That |
I am always amazed that there's so little love for the modern white-dial version (the 116500-0002). Here's mine on an orange Everest strap. It cheers me up!

The Rolex Milgauss
To me the Milgauss is a fun watch and I am a”young 65”.
Do I like others Rolex’s more - yeah - adore my CHNR. But when I really want to be in a laid back mood - it’s my Z Blue on a blue strap with orange stitching. It’s just nice to be sitting on the porch with it on and that orange lightning second hand doing its thing. Steve Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I assume these are hard to obtain like all SS Rolexes these days? Edit: a quick search shows that they are like all other SS models in current market. |

I walked into my local AD with no purchase history and it took a month or two. Loving it so far. It’s so unique and different but in a really good way. The way the light constantly plays with the colors of the dial and crystal is wonderful. I really think it’s a very underrated watch in the grand scheme of things. Good luck and happy hunting if you do decide to pursue it. |
Anyone able to provide a video of their Milgauss? I'd like to see the dial under sunlight if possible? Alas, I cannot afford one of these!
