One of the local sellers in my area brought by this 6542, he will listing it on eBay shortly. I passed because the pitting between the lugs seems pretty severe.
Thanks,
Scott

As far as I know, Dalton can do magic.

That is severe..... Here is one perspective.

It can be chemically neutralized/stopped, but the loss of metal can only be repaired by welding material back in place..

This seems to carry over into the "O" ring recess, and that shouldn't be touched excpt to remove any sharp spurs...

This is a case where lot's of material needs to be removed to get it perfect...probably too much, but there is enough material to take a clean-up cut and polish and make it acceptable, but it would still be there to a large degree...

The Rolex fix would probably be a re-case for this watch...... Having it re-cased would depend on the value as-is, vs. the re-cased value.

Thanks for the feedback Larry! I really took the loupe to this one but in the end it just had too many issues! Did I also mention that it was redialed! Albeit nicely, but still.... Project watches are fun, but in this ones case it would have been a lot more than I really wanted to spend. It was fun to take apart and play with though, the 1030 was humming away nicely.

I would imagine using a lazer welder would work but be quite labor intensive. You'd have to add enough metal to be able to file and polish down to the level of the case. Rik
