The NCAA Men’s College Baseball Tournament begins 05/30/2025.

The field of 64 teams will get their seeding and regional selections as of this Monday 05/26/2025.

All the best,

Not I, but GOOOO TIGUHS !!!! (LSU of course)

SEC tourney started tonight

DJ TT 2002 24 May 2025 10:41 AM

My son’s team received an automatic bid as champions of their league but I have no clue as to where they’ll land in the regionals.
This is all new stuff for us.

Good luck to LSU

Thank you.

Baseball is a team sport and everybody’s hard work has gotten this team this far.
Great coaches, great trainers and, of course, great kids

I was in Omaha last year with my son’s 11 year old baseball team for a tournament while the CWS was going. We ended up going to game 1 of the final series with Texas A&M and Tennessee. As a baseball fan, it was without a doubt the best atmosphere I’ve ever been in for a baseball game. I’ve been to Wrigley several times, Fenway Park, and Yankee Stadium but this was by far the most exciting. All of the activities that are going on around the stadium were a lot of fun and the baseball village there has plenty of ways to spend your money. If you’re a baseball fan and you ever have the chance, you need to go to Omaha. Our tournament didn’t start until it was basically the final series and it would’ve been nice to be there the weekend before when all the teams were playing.

Thank you, Justin.

That is exactly the sort of positive feedback I was hoping for in this thread

I’m so glad that you and your family had a great time

Good luck. I’ve been to Alex Box (LSU) many years ago for a regional. It’s a great venue, but I’m biased as a LSU alum. Geaux Tigas!!!

Love college ball! - I’ve had (row 1 :agree:) season tickets forever, and been thrilled to watch Miami win the CWS four times. I expect UM just barely squeaked into the field of 64 this year. Unfortunately, even if they win their regional in Hattiesburg, they’ll likely face the #1 national seed (Vandy) in their super regional.

Congratulations to your son and his team! If they get to Omaha and you have the opportunity, go! The whole city goes all out to welcome fans for the CWS (and there are some great steaks to be had in Omaha).

BTW - OP, I assume your son plays for either Holy Cross or Nebraska? If the latter, well … Omaha really goes crazy when the Huskers are in the CWS!

Thank you for your thoughts and recommendations.
It’s great to hear that people go out of their way to make the experience memorable!

My son pitches for Holy Cross and they have an excellent team this year.
UNC has an excellent team EVERY year :chuckle::chuckle:

I’m just going to wait and see how all of this plays out.
I will not be booking flights to Omaha yet.

Best of luck to The Hurricanes !!!!!

My school is heading to Chapel Hill this week for a best of three.
They'll be a tough nut to crack.

miamiclay 6 June 2025 05:44 AM

Miami not only won its regional tournament as the #3 seed, but now heads to Louisville for its super, not Nashville. (Vanderbilt became the first ever national #1 seed to not even make it to its regional final.)

Iirc, both Vandy and Southern Miss decided not to use their ace starters in game 1, hoping to save them for the second, winners’ bracket games. Happily (for Miami), #4 seed Wright St beat Vandy, and #4 seed Columbia beat USM, putting both #1 seeds into the losers’ bracket.

Go Canes!

UNC is an excellent team and Knapp is the real deal.
I do not know enough about Arizona to make any type of prediction, but I can say that I will NOT shed a tear if your team sweeps the Tarheels

Best of luck to Miami in the super regional!
Maybe Louisville is due to be hit by some “ Hurricanes”

After being bum-rushed in the opener (18-2), my school came from behind in the next two, so they'll be going to Omaha.

Good for them

Congratulations to AZ, LSU, and the other teams headed to Omaha (especially Oregon St.)!

Miami dropped game 3 to the Louisville Cardinals 3-2, but they played well and got further than anyone would’ve guessed just 3 weeks ago. I’ll be back at the Light rooting for the Canes next year (fates willing and the creek don’t rise).

Sorry to see Miami go.
They’re talented.
A little bit of luck is involved in all of these games too.

I’m looking forward to next year as well
My son came on in relief against Nebraska and did well.
The 2026 campaign should have him as a starter.
Hope springs eternal!

The whole experience for him was just great

In these short series, imo a LOT of luck is involved. The years Miami won the CWS were not their best teams, just the ones who got hot at the right time and caught some breaks. One year (‘85?) it was their bullpen catcher (!) who went on a tear and iirc, ended up as MVP.

As FSU is out, so I’ve no one to root against, I’ll be cheering for Paul’s AZ Wildcats. Winning two straight elimination games may put them in a good place.
