Rolex date just 1st service after 22 years
Hi . I’m thinking about getting my date just serviced after 22 years as it’s not keeping time to well. Do you think Rolex would fit the oyster bracelet on it or would I have to have the same bracelet style that came with the watch. The original bracelet is so stretched it needs changing I think. Also does anyone know how many parts you think will need changing. It’s had a hard life on my wrist

You’ve done really well for it to last 22 years. As for what will need doing to it is anyone’s guess but once opened up and serviced I’m sure it’ll be as good as new

I'm pretty sure they'll put the Oyster bracelet on your watch but they'll keep your original bracelet.
I recently had my father's 50+ year old OP serviced. The jubillee bracelet needed to be replaced but they denied our request to return the original bracelet that he wanted for sentimental reasons as it was a wedding present from his wife. |

Sounds like a well worn and well loved watch.
I’d love to see a picture |

It's not quite like that; they tell you in advance that it will be retained when replaced, they don't just seize your property without warning. But yes, they are control freaks in that way, and in a few others.

If you want to keep the original bracelet just take it off before sending the watch in for service. They will give you the option to purchase a bracelet that was original to the watch when manufactured. Then send the stretched out bracelet for repair should you desire.

Why risk them keeping it. Put it on a leather strap, send it for service and ask them to put it on an oyster bracelet.

Would they service an old watch without a bracelet if the bracelet was lost?

I am also interested in getting it serviced. I haven't worn it in about 15 years. |
