Issue with posting my For Sale listings

Been doing this all year, every other day I bump, no more than 5 listings a day. Currently I have a total of 8 listings period.

Suddenly some of my listings get pulled so I get a couple of testy PMs from Lol-x about this after I asked him nicely about what happened. I write back in testy kind and inform him that whoever pulled my listings is the one who doesn't know what he is doing, so of course another mod Mailman gives me an infraction says it is not every other day it is every 48 hours.

Do we need to be that anal here? What if it's 46 hours?

I'd think with someone who had paid to post listings that an every other day bump would be good enough. Sometimes I bump my listings every other day other times I might not touch them for a week or more.

I suppose it takes a certain type of person to be an unpaid Moderator at a forum, but it seems to me that the spirit of the rule here: not flooding the forum with more than 5 posts in a day, and bump every other day, would be good enough.

Are you just airing a gripe?

Don't know about your listing, but "every 48 hours" is pretty plain language.

Are you suggesting that it should be "every 48ish hours", then let everybody figure out if it applies to them or not?

You bumped five new listings after about 31 hours, then after they were removed you re-listed and bumped after a similar number of hours.

In the rules it clearly states bumps are allowed once every 48 hours, not 'every other day'.

This was explained to you already, yet here you are criticizing mods and admin for upholding the rules that everyone else follows, to keep a level playing field.

Bro hundreds of others can follow the rules why are you incapable (repeatedly) of doing the same?

"Testy PM's" thanks for that, you want to put my PM's up for public discussion, that's not very cool and I have a different interpretation of your PM's?

And you didn't pay to post listings, you made a donation for the running of the website, and you were as a corollary were granted the privilege of posting in the classifieds sub-forums.

Oh wow, the perfect example of entitlement.
You were given an infraction (rightly so!), after repeating the same mistake of bumping your adds before the 48 hour timeframe, a third time in less than a week?!
Then, after doing so, post about your so called grievances, in an open discussion for all to see.
What this has really shown here, is that you feel rules do not apply to you, and the forum should just expect and allow, your tardiness.
For me, it only highlights the exact traits of a person whom I would not do any transactions with, even if it were a pack of gum. I’m sure a few others will likely feel the same way..

I didn't get to where I am by being a martinet.

The 8 watches I have listed for sale represent a tiny fraction of my collection. I'm a collector not a dealer if I were to list all of my watches for sale that would be over $2,000,000. in watches I'd have to list 5 at a time. Fine, I can do that, the 5 at a time thing I don't question that. (Although there too if someone with too much time on his hands is counting down everyone's listings to make sure exactly 24 hours passes between them, that's a bit much too.)

But trying to bump 5 listings every 48 hours takes a few minutes, such that I'd have to be on call ready to post at a slightly different slightly later time each day to make sure I passed at least 48 hours. I'm not a watch dealer, I can't be on call like that, and I don't see any of the actual dealers online following your rule fanatically enough to do that either.

Which is why the listings I notice just take at least 3 days between each bump.

So that's what your 48 hour rule becomes for normal people who aren't nervously clocking the time between bumps - a 3 day rule. And the 24 hour rule for 5 listings becomes an every other day rule. Which is more reason to just relax and not worry about it so much unless someone seems to be abusing this process.

I have been posting listings all year doing pretty much the same thing, no problems - maybe I got into trouble with you mods recently only because I was traveling a lot across different time zones recently and I might have lost track, but I don't believe I ever bumped any listing other than every other day.

And yet continuing to shoot himself in the foot!

The martinet comment, classic..
Just showing you still feel hard done by. Entitled as I had said before.

We, the forum and it rules, don’t care how many watches you have for sale, or how much your wonderful collection is worth. That doesn’t give you the right, or the authority to bump the listings whenever you feel it’s ok to do so.
As for your ‘every other day comment’, not sure where you feel that’s appropriate. It isn’t every other day, it’s every 48 hours, at a minimum!

Further, wherever you are in the world, the timestamp of your previous post is accurate to the timeframe you are meant to adhere with.
Given you are showing to be a man of the people, I would have to think a math problem solve of the simple addition + 48, would not be too difficult?! Or is it?

Just know, that every person posting in that section is expected to follow the same basic rule that you seem to struggle with. The biggest sellers posting more than 8 watches, and still continue to follow the basics… It isn’t rocket science.

Now, as you so eloquently posted, the mods have far better things to do than follow members whom just can’t seem to grasp this simple rule.
You sir, had been picked up as a habitual early bumper, and flagged on it.
So, at this point, since you need to air your problems with everyone, I’ll air my thoughts…
Should you continue to bump in less than 48 hours, not every other day, you will lose access to posting in the FS section all together.
Should you also continue to argue your nonsense here, you may just lose access to the forum completely. Just like the 48 hours, I hope this comes through clearly..
