Reading the time for 5224?

For owners how is reading the time for the 5224? Is it something that's just not gonna be quick like a regulator, or is it generally not that bad? I like that there's an inner track and that the display is inverted but i weirdly have never owned or used a GMT

I'd suggest even lookers or buyers couldn't tell you what time it is using that dial.

If I traveled a lot for business this would be a nice watch but I just do not have enough use for a dressier GMT. For me Id have to have a few other models before Id add this to a collection
But in answer to your question I do not have any issue telling the time on it
If you like it I would suggest getting it, its not a common Patek to see in the wild.

I actually use 24 hr time on my digital clocks (car and home) and the couple digital watches I own. So the more I look at this the more I like it but as said I have a few other pieces Id want before this.

If you ‘hide’ the skeletal hand it’s just a matter of getting used to it.

Or, if not travelling, one can always set the solid hour hand at 180 degrees to the skeleton hour hand - eg 12 and 24 , 18 and 6 etc.

It is, as GGGMT says, a fabulous piece and not a run of the mill watch.

I really wish they would have placed the midnight 24hr mark at the top of the dial. To me that would make it more time friendly readable. I love the idea of a 24 hr dial. I asked at the Geneva Patek boutique why they might have done it this way and was told it had to do with the 10-10 position -- being more pleasing to look at and if the 24 mark at the top-- most people not awake or at least wanting to see what time it is

Actually I find it easier to read as it has been designed, with 12 at the top. As above, I set the hour hands at opposite hours eg 12 and 24. It is a beautiful piece with a really attractive coin shaped case with rounded sides. The rose gold on blue is stunning. If I had a complaint it would be that the strap is a bit thin at the buckle and flimsy.

The last grey price I saw showed it’s undervalued at the moment. I think in the long run the unique styling will give its desirability longevity.

I remember an interview Thierry saying that it makes more sense having the time that people are actually awake up top, which does seem logical. I guess it's the same as a regulator, takes a second for the brain to adjust.

Some people would also prefer to have the afternoon time on the right half of the dial, easier to manipulate the cuff when reading and people finding more "natural".
