Explorer 2 date wheel takes 3 hours to fully change

I have a 216750 that is Keeping excellent time. However, the date wheel starts to change around 12:15 and takes around 3 full hours to fully become the next day. Any idea if it’s movement related, needs hands to be readjusted, or something wrong with the date wheel mechanism?

Try cycling the date around a few times might cure it.

This happened recently to my 50th anniversary SD. It is one year out of warranty but Rolex fixed it for me in 4 weeks free of charge.
Not sure what might have caused it. Has always kept perfect time otherwise.
