At first I’d use some jewelers tape on the back of the lugs to mitigate scratches but if you have a good set of spring bar tweezers it’s easy work. Same with switching links. I have rebuilt entire cars from the wheels up so I guess I am a bit more inclined to this sort of thing than some
Do you think it is worth getting Bergeon spring bar tweezers or any "cheaper" brands work just the same?

The Bergeron are really nice. I have never used anything else but it’s worth the splurge. The tips are replaceable if they ever wear out. I would just check what kind of steel the Bergeron uses and order something with the same steel.

I got myself a pair of the Horofix ergonomic tips and I slapped them on a pair of the cheap Amazon tweezers. The tips are identical to the Bergeron yet a fraction of the cost to put it all together. Plus the ergonomic tips are angled in a way that makes it 100000% easier to use.

The ideal solution would be to add a half link, if one is available for the specific model you're referring to.

If not, there are some work arounds...

Here’s my plan (in mm):

Add a link: +10
Clasp, move 2 holes: -6
Easylink closed: -5

Delta: -1mm (basically same size)
