Small seconds watch
I’m interested in adding one to my collection. I like a bigger case and have no issues with the Skydweller or ExpII in terms of size.
I’m not opposed to another automatic movement but would like a quartz just for simplicity. No date, just don’t need it. Small seconds can be anywhere on the dial. I came across Louis Erard and they make some 42mm with 22mm lug width that would be great but the case thickness was something like 15mm+. That for me is just too thick. Also automatic that I might not want. I just want an easy watch that works and doesn’t need to be set. My dad had a Seiko solar that somehow just ran and ran and ran. I guess I’m not opposed to solar, just don’t know much but what is there to know, I guess… Any suggestions? I need another watch like a I need a hole in the …. |

Just bought this IWC yesterday. It is an automatic, but with no date, it’s not hard to set. I have a nearby thread on it.

I would look at the citizen ecodrive. I have had mine for 40 years… it won’t die
Seiko also makes some good basic watches.

I recommend looking at NOMOS watches. They're not quartz, but they do have in-house mechanical movements at what I think are very reasonable prices. Design, quality and performance are excellent. I think everything in their catalog has a small seconds display.
There are usually deals to be had from Authorized Dealers in the USA. https://nomos-glashuette.com/en |
