This. 100%. I will tell you what I want if you get bumped up the list but aren’t in the market for anything. :)

I’d leave it. Polishing hurts the case and especially the bezel more than the bracelet.

Due to the arrogant way the AD is handling their mistake, I believe it's time to introduce the AD to your attorney.

This is quite aggressive. If you could find an attorney to litigate, what is the demand?

Brand new current model replacement watch?

Monetary compensation for "damaging" the watch? If so, how much?

It's very likely in the fine print somewhere it will state that Rolex may not be held accountable for such errors.

But interested what an attorney will do?

Any attorneys on the forum?

It’s interesting that the “good news” is that they are offering to double down on the mistake and also shine your case!
Entire service should be free, take it back as-is and let them know you want a phone call on ______model in the very near future.

I expect a Panda incoming soon!!!!

Kidding…

What happened unfortunate and incompetent. Clearly someone thought it too much work to read the entire order.

That said, in yyour original post you stated

“I always felt, and have always been told, polishing a Rolex devalues it”

I’ve heard that too, but to be honest, I’ve never seen any actually evidence that that’s true. For every hard core WUS who prefers an unpolished watch, there is 20 casual watch buyers who want it as radiant as possible. If this was a true vintage reference, than perhaps, but I don’t think the polish will devalue your watch one bit IMHO. Not that it justifies the error in anyway, shape, or form.

I wouldn’t follow through with their ‘offer’ to polish the case

You didn’t want polishing in the first place

Ask to speak with the owner as you’re very disappointed

A free service wouldn’t cut it with me

I’d ask to see how is the polishing job on the bracelet before proceeding to have them do the case. I had some experience with ADs polishing a couple of my watches. None of them came out great (edges not sharp, brush finishing too shiny). However, a polishing job from a RSC was much better and close to factory looks.
