Any Ingenieur Owners?

I’ve always had a little something for the Ingenieur. I’m a complete IWC virgin, but am sorely tempted to pop my cherry, so to speak. I’m on the brink but have some stage fright.

Any owners on here past and present? Let’s see ‘em and here your opinions.

FWIW - from what I've seen of it (online only) I do think IWC got the finish spot on with this one.

And I have quite a few. Some have complained that it is overpriced. But that is hard to quantify. Is it worth 9k but not 11k? I guess if people feel that way, go pre-owned. Do not think many are out there yet.

What’s the timekeeping like on it?

I am not testing my watches for accuracy, but my Ingy appears to be accurate.

I have an aqua version, added the adjustable clasp. Very nice watch. While I haven’t done a proper test on it, mine is running about +5. Does recommend.

I own the aqua Ingy. Great watch, did have an issue with timekeeping directly after buying the timepiece new. It needed to be regulated by the IWC watchmaker. Got the watch back in a few days. Keeps good track of time since then.I love the design, the teal color of the dial and finishing. A bit overpriced, but that only hurts at the moment when tapping the plastic.

This is the colour that I’m drawn to the most. Unfortunately I don’t have an AD within 3-4 hour drive. So it’ll be an online purchase which gives me added returns if I don’t gel, or if it doesn’t look how I’d hoped.

Why doesn’t IWC have COSC? Do you think they’re missing a trick with this?

Even though your watch needed regulating, for me the after care, diligence and communication can say a lot about a brand and can make the whole experience even more pleasurable, if that makes sense.

You might argue that the Richemont in-house movement 32111, which is also being used in Richemomt watches half the price, is a mismatch for this price tier of 12k+. That IWC did not use a certified chronometer movement or the more sophisticated 82000 IWC caliber is a miss in my eyes. It is not a dealbreaker for me. I love the Gemta-ish desigh, the heritage and the finishing.

I have the aqua and absolutely love it. I wear it weekly with a smile. I recently tried on the titanium and it’s also amazing, with the blasted finish and high polish elements. Man it’s SO light. I own other titanium and still got surprised at the weight.
One warning, if you have a large wrist, make sure you get extra links. I’ve never seen a bracelet watch come so small fully linked. I have a 6.6 wrist and had only one link out.

IWC doesn't get much attention, but I like the 36mm Blue dial Pilot. Nice sizes and a simple and legible dial. Any pros and cons for those who own one?
