Sinn?
Thoughts on Sinn watches? Some of their divers look interesting..... Anyone have any first hand experience with Sinn? Kind of considering a U50...

I like the pictures but in person, not so much. They seem just a little off both size wise and wear wise. My AD has a robust secondary watch business and on occasion they get one in. Maybe I am just seeing the wrong models. The website for Sinn is not good nor easy to use. A pass for me in todays watch world.

Love my [now discontinued] 757 UTC. It has all the tech Sinn is known for; SUG Submarine steel w/ tegiment treatment, Copper Sulphate capsule, Faraday cage for the movement, EDR(reduce the infiltration of moisture in the case to as little as 25% versus conventional nitrile rubber case seals), two time zones, rotating bezel, 200m WR, not to mention amazing legibility, and built like a tank.

I love my Sinn u50 and wear it almost daily. The tegimented steel is worth the price if you're thinking about it...it barely scratches. The u50 I bought was used but looks brand new.
For me, it fits the role of stress free tool watch very well! I have the older Bell & Ross X Sinn chronograph too and it a lot of fun, especially at the price point. That one I got from my dad. |

Love my Arktis, the blue dial is really something. Have had this for 12 years already.

Sinn is fabulous, great tool watch at an attractive price point. Aesthetics work, too - but that’s a personal take.

Love Sinn. I have 3. U2, 900S, and EZM10 Testaf. Regular part of my rotation. Tough, functional, lot's of interesting tech, and I happen to love the purposeful, utilitarian, look. There's nothing glamorous about it, which is fine with me.

They’re German and it shows.
They are built hell for stout. That said, they have become a little pricey as of late. I’ve come close to buying them, but always decided last minute to allocate the resources to something with a little more “soul”. If you buy one OP, please post pics, they are great watches. |

I have owned an 857 and 30.06. Great, tough timepieces of underrated quality. I would purchase and wear a new Sinn U50 with total confidence.

Longtime Sinn fan, though I’ve been on a bit of break from them. However, I just went back to the well and got a U50 Tegimented — received it this week. Simply — It is awesome! The dimensions of the watch, particularly at only 11.2mm thick make it wear very very similar to a 5-digit Rolex. The dial is both subdued and vibrant — it that makes sense — with the matte black and high contrast white & red-orange. The Submarine steel w/ Tegimented finish give it a darker color, so it is unique compared to all my other watches. I also currently have an EZM3, which I’ve thought has a cool look to it, while the U50 is more sporty. I highly recommend Sinn! |
