Daytona OF Dials

Hey all!

I have been lucky enough to recently add the 126519LN with the silver dial, and am smitten with the Oyster Flex option.

The rose gold variant with the black dial (no diamonds) was a close second, but could only have 1 on the list.

I know that the Sundust variant is the more popular version, but wondered if anyone has their story as to how they added the black to their collection.

I want to add myself to the list, I don’t want it too soon!

Thanks

Over a decade relationship with my AD. Only bought 1 DJ 41 from them. Mentioned I want a Daytona and was shooting for ghost. Got a call 1 week later that the Baby Le Man was available. Went from "aw man" to "hell yeah" in about 1 second. Prefer it to the ghost after comparing the two side by side. Not sure why the ghost gets more love online. Every AD and Rolex fan I have shown the watch to mentions that this is the version they would want.

I'm not a VIP there. They were being allocated this watch so most of this is perfect timing and an awesome relationship with that AD.

Well, I can't share any stories about the black dial but can about the Sundust dial. After deciding that I wanted a PM Daytona over the SS variants, the RG Sundust dial on OF rose to the top of my wish list over any of the other PM Daytona's. I have a very good relationship with my AD and they were able to allocate one to me within 4 months requesting it. It's a stunner and I just I just love it.

In defense of the Ghost, i think it’s more unique and different than the baby le mans. First, we all have a lot of black dials in our collections most likely, hence go with something different. And the baby Le Mans nickname is brutal. Not a fan.

I didn't wait long for mine. In the November I picked up a rose DD and by the following April had the rose OF black dial. In my experience T/T and PM is a short wait whatever flavour you ask for and it's going to get shorter still.

What incredible pictures to show the wearability of this one. Love it.

Thanks for the replies

Sorry for the mix up, I managed to get the Ghost, and am now looking at a Rose option....maybe won't be so hard to get as the Ghost was!

The ghost is a sweet one, still don’t know what a baby Lemans is? Any of the 3 black sub dials is a winner for me. Gold, Silver and Sundust dials, the contrast with black looks amazing to me. Any of the above! Although the ghost would be my choice. Love the stealth wealth look of WG.

Unless you know? You know?

The "Baby LeMans" as it is called now or the "Reverse Panda" is such a classic look in terms of the Rolex Daytona. And the fact that the WG Daytona on OF with the Black dial is so 'under the radar," it will be the classic though underrated PM OF until the masses realizes this.

Is the "Baby LeMans" the "Reverse Pandy?"

So is the "Ghost" the "Panda"?

Isn't the BabyLemans the inverse of the Ghost?

The baby lemans. Wouldn’t be the Daytona king if I didn’t post a pic of one. Looks great in person but I prefer the ghost to it honestly.
