5513 crystal question

I’m probably keeping this 62xxxxx MK3 sub. It has a very domed crystal that I want to replace with a new one. I’ve noticed some crystal are very shallow and have a sharp edge. I’ve found the 25-19 factory replacement crystal online. Is this the low one or is my watch supposed to have a taller more rounded dome?

This pic is online of a matte dial 5513 crystal. Is this the 25-19?

I can't answer your ? But since you mentioned replacement, let me show you a couple pictures. 1 16750 with true dome #38 2 1601 with true dome #29. They offer a #19 for a 5513.

Your first photo is the original superdomed tropic 19 and last photo is the service crystal tropic 19.

Your Maxi dial sub should be fitted with an superdomed tropic 19.

Are you really sure you want to replace it?

For comparision, here’s the original domed crystal on my 3.7 mil 5512. I believe the ones with the higher sides/edges are service crystals.

Yes. I’d keep the original of course but it’s kind of yellow and I’d keep it original unpolished. Then I get the new scratch free and hopefully not yellow one to enjoy the lollipop dial even more.

So just a name description differentiates them? Both are 19s. No different part number? Sounds like I need to looked for old stock crystal in a plastic pouch vs the newer one in the sealed plastic with a paper back pouch with the QR code right? Not this one
Too new right?

Was looking at the true dome 19 as well. Expensive for it not being factory. But it is nice and clear!

Weird that the crystal is yellow on a watch without radium lume. I haven't seen that too often. However, I've polished a ton of crystals, even with pretty deep scratches, and they generally look great afterwards. There's no value in keeping a crystal unpolished.

They are the same part #. Just the original(superdomed) is in different profile than the service crystal.

There are many different packaging, most of the tropic 19(25-19) are service crystals just in a different packaging. The original superdomed 19 is expensive and difficult to come by but there are out there.

Your crystal seems fine, just a polywatch polishing can get it better.

you're right. better to keep the original crystal on this one. I remember i changed my 1680 sub crystal since even though i Polywatched it. the date cyclops was so deeply scratched the date numbers were warped and it bothered me. I got a new factory crystal to see the silver date wheel in all its glory!
