Wow Mariuz, you truly captured the essence of the 116610LV in these photos! Beautiful! I went down the same path as you did with the 126610LV MK1. The 116 will be with me for the long haul. I find the clasp on the 126 too long. I happened to like the maxi case of the 116, it’s unique and will stand out among the many Rolex Submariner iterations now and into the future.
Cheers

Exactly the reason I passed on the hulk and bought the SB. Same way I felt about the bluesy.
The SB is amazing, get it!

I’ll tell you owning both, you can get away with more with the Starbucks with wardrobes and having it work because of the black face. I’ve taken both on extended vacations, where I had to push each watch into multiple environments and wardrobes. The Starbucks can have its green toned down where you can’t do that with the Hulk depending on what you are wearing. In other words, the Starbucks feels like a dark suit wearing a green tie, but the Hulk feels like you’re wearing an all green suit with a green tie.

Kevin, I wish you many happy moments with Hulk on your paw, because the 116610LV is an incredibly grateful watch that brings a lot of joy from using it.

100% agree. Wow great analogy! That is exactly how I feel about the two of them. I can’t believe how versatile the SB really is. Also, I always felt your black sub is the way to go. I do miss it. The SB at least is close to it with the great black dial, but just a pop of green to keep it interesting.

This thread has me chuckling when I remember the early days of the LVC's release, and the massive amount of hate it generated here. Thread after thread of pure vitriol.

And now, look at all the love. It just warms my heart.

That’s a great analogy of them.

I never tend to care what I wear or match with my watch, however to me the black face is so much nicer. Much like a green suit the green dial is overkill for me.

I miss the black sub as well. I love the LV but once in a while I want an all black option. It seems silly to buy two though. It’s crazy how full circle my mind goes.

So true. I bought one back in 2010 when it was released. I really liked it but was nearly embarrassed to admit that I had one when I first joined the forum!

The way to go is a 16610lv 50TH Anniv Kermit + a Hulk. That way you can wear the Kermit with an updated glidelock bracelet.

IMO, the Kermit is more special than the SB. Big plots, with 5 digit cast proportions. plus, i purchased a black bezel from a 16610 for variety.

I go back and forth. It is a sickness. I guess that is why the SubLV with black dial is the best of both worlds.

I agree with you, especially flat 4

People here trying to figure out a way to trade SB for Hulk.

Because it's green dial is mesmerizing the other half of the time! If you can get a Hulk, do it. The current LV is also a very cool SubDate. Both are winners!

Agreed, it’s a sickness but I think the minute I get a black I’m bored within 3 weeks. I need a watch friend locally so we can trade watches.

I’m down for dressing up in a Hulk suit!

I much rather prefer the original 1st ceramic LV. It pops so well under direct sunlight, then darkens under certain lighting conditions as others have noted.

I hate the proportions of the maxi case so I would choose the black dial. I would still rather have a five digit version anyways. IMO the green dial is to much anyways.

I have owned both and they are both great combinations. Green happens to be my favorite color. The Hulk is definitely fun, but as an everyday, not so much. The Starbucks still has the cool pop of green but works in so many more situations. Owning both would be nice, but if owning just one, Starbucks it is.

Can we please return to reference numbers, just for the sake of pecision, so that we can all know what piece is being discussed?

It's like the forum has been taken over by middle schoolers.
