Loose or tight

Any thoughts on whether to wear the watch loose or tight. I've heard that tight will prevent stretch but it seems that if worn tight there would always be pressure on the links causing them to stretch. I have a jubilee bracelet.???

Wear it the way you like it. You won't stretch for that reason. You'll develop more sloppiness in the bracelet by failing to remove dirt and grime. Of course, that will be about 15 years from now in the worst case.

Personally, a watch flopping round irritates the crap out of me and it doesn't give you efficient movement of the rotor in auto winding either as your wrist moves more that the watch when it hangs loose.

Just loose enough to slip a finger underneath the anterior portion of your wrist, that is the perfect fit.

I always thought snug until I got my GMT . . . it has a loose-ish fit and it just seems more natural that way. I'll wear all my watches like that from now on.

I can deal with a band being a bit loose, but on a hot day when my wrist expands, a tight band feels terrible.

Snug. Not really loose, and not really tight. Just right!

Depends on the watch and how it feel to you. I like my air-king a bit loose and my submariner a bit snug. I guess I do not want a big watch moving around on my wrist for some reason???

Snug enough so that it doesn't look like I have a bangle on my wrist.

I like to be able to slide my watch up and down my wrist a little, but not too loose, not too tight.

snug...not loose and flopping around like a bracelet. I see several women wearing their Rolexes like that. They never took out the extra links. Not surprisingly, they complain that their Rolex is not very accurate...I don't think a loosely worn watch picks up the full benefit of the wrist movement.

I wear my Rolex fairly loose. I had it adjusted at first, but it proved to be too tight - I can't have my watch sitting tight on my wrist - I need some space to breathe. I had the link put back in and adjusted bracelet to a half a link increase via micro adjustment. Due to the geometry of my wrist - it can sit between palm and the knuckle or slide about 2 inches freely between knuckle and the arm - the watch is very heavy and doesn't 'catch' like some other quarts swiss watches. I think it's too loose sometimes, but I would hate to go back to the feeling of cuffs. One of the reason I long for new clasp on 09 Sub.

Tight for me. It is a little aggravating when my wrists swell, i.e., after eighteen holes, etc. But I just can't stand it moving around on my wrist.

index finger between bracelet and clasp usually a good way for me to judge.
