5968A Chrono Calibrate

My 5968A does not go back to zero when I press the 4 o'clock pusher. Is there a way to recalibrate or do I need service?

Couple of guys had that problem with the 5968 and it was quickly resolved by Patek.

Some times you can do it by your self by pushing the reset button bit harder especially if the watch is brand new

sorry to hear that, just take it back to the ad , and they will send it back and you should get it back within 4 weeks


heads up , you should have really checked all that in the shop whilst collecting

oh boy. that sounds a lot like "just give it a good shake" to get it running again

Same problem with my 5980. Same movement. Quite common. Took three months to repair under warranty. Then I sold it.

I’ve had this happen on some of my chronographs. I think the hand isn’t perfectly secure and it can slip a little with use/wear. I think they just replace the hand. When it happened to my Daytona, I had it back in a couple of weeks. I believe it is a really easy fix for them but depends on the priority they give it.

Well, I bought mine gray- so no warranty. Question- the time keeping is otherwise completely intact as is the date. Would you recommend holding off on service a couple of years considering I have no use for the chronograph function?

Why no warranty? If you have the certificate of authenticity and it’s under two years old and has the Patek AD name on it the warranty is still good. If you’re in the USA contact Henri Stern in NYC. I would not wait to fix it.

As mentioned above, the warranty goes with the watch not the name on paper. You can send your 5968 in to get it fixed for free bud. Same as Rolex, doesnt matter who is the first owner

you paid grey market prices for a 5968 and have no papers? ouch and double ouch

The more important question is if you have no use for the chronograph why buy a 5968 instead of 5167, 5164, etc? You

There is a problem with the flyback and this needs to go back to PP. How long have you had the watch for? You could ask for a replacement rather than wait for it to be repaired.

I’m here. I don’t disappear. Not sure we’re that came from or how it’s pertinent to the discussion. Are there some rules as to frequency I should check for replies?

Send it back to Patek Service Centre.

You show up with your warranty and watch. Done.
