I don't see Rolex moving to ceramic on the Explorer II. It would look like another GMT imo. We'll know soon.

I also prefer the brushed bezel on the Exp2. We'll see but I haven't liked a single photoshop I've seen of a ceramic bezel on the Exp2.

Same, I find them ugly and useless.

Also it makes zero sense. Explorer 2 is the watch that goes against rocks. Ceramic would get destroyed in caves. Steel is good.

Would that make it the CExplorer II? That sounds like an adult movie.

I love and will be keeping mine. Not sure if the scratch complainers realize how great that bezel looks in real life and it only costs a couple hundred to replace... much better than the ceramic plastic look.

Same. I won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon. Not a fan of the plastic looking ceramic.

If the new version goes to ceramic, there still will be plenty of steel bezel watches for people that want them.

It’s nice when pristine. :-)

I’m looking forward to seeing what Rolex has planned.

Great photo! The brushed steel bezel on the GMTII is/was one of the details I appreciate the most!

The only way I'm down with ceramic on the Exp II is if it is a matte ceramic.

I dinged it badly within the 1st hour of owning it... so I'm glad if it's gone to something more durable.

Ceramic is not more durable than stainless steel

That's correct what I really wanted to say is that steel wrecks it right away, I'd rather have it broken and replaced and have the cerachrom for a more pristine look. Let's face it: you're normally not a deep caves "explorer", so the metal bezel doesn't appeal for most of the real buyers anyway... reason why they switched them on the Sub for example, and on most sports models

I concur
As someone that’s smashed their Pepsi ceramic bezel to smithereens after dropping it on the floor id say I’d rather climb Mount Everest with a steel Bezel 😂

Fantastic photo!!! The 216570 is one of the best watches ever made. We'll know what the new one looks like soon enough. I love the steel bezel, but I'm open to see what they do for the E2's 5-0.

Perhaps they will split the difference and give us a radially brushed, low reflection ceramic bezel? Bonus points for grey ceramic to better match the case! That might be a winner?

I believe ceramic bezels are coming to Explorer models. Another Rolex model going for +40% above list prices. This is awesome for our hobby!
