Top Panerai Models to Own

With the latest Panerai releases being polarizing (love vs hate), it would seem fans of the brand would be looking to collect some of the previous models that may have been discontinued.

I currently have PAM 233 Dot (yes I decided to keep it). I've been eyeing up a PAM 372, 422, etc. What other models would be considered "must haves" for a Panerai collection?

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Other Panerai for me I'd like would be the 690, that blue dial.....

The 127 is tops in my books as well.

I figured I'd oblige with a shot of my 690. Its not everyone's cup of tea, but I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on it.

I am a simple man. PAM000 would be my choice.

I am currently only on the lookout for a 127. A simple base model is also always great to have, like a 000, 112 or 176 if you like titanium.

Got mine, 112G & tritium 024.
If I felt comfortable with 47mm, I’d add 127

I would go with a 44mm bettarini case. Pam111 or something similar

A 47 mm simple Pam. Pam372 is vintage classy

Optional is an automatic Pam.

Not a ‘must have’ for many but I like my 231.

The 127 or the 217. The 233 Dot and a diver. If you have the wrist the 194 or the LE 285. I also like the 190.

Absolutely agree. A taste of the past in a 217. A 212 for a chrono, a 799 for an awesome diver and a 317 for a ceramic.

Panerai is a watch brand that is more about the owners personal style steering them to “the” right model as opposed to a higher status symbol between models. There is no have to own iconic model from Panerai probably because from the out side they all look the same to the man on the street. I would equate that in asking a similar “what is the most iconic, have to own Datejust model in the Rolex category?”
I personally find the brand Panerai extremely fresh especially with the new materials like Carbotech but I like Panerai to be fresh and a outside the box brand. They do make some head scratchers but that’s what you get when a brand is a crazy Genius.

I find this true. They all look the same but means different to each. This is the only brand I have bonded with. I have had Rolex omega etc but I always come back to panerai. They may not be the best watch maker but they have soul

Good market to be buying if you’re after a deal on a Panerai. I like the inspiration!
