Only on this site does the Sub engender such passion among owners. Simplicity, purity and faithfulness to the original Sub are most often cited as what people like. If you check the archives you'll find this watch and comparisons with the Sub Date consume more server space than the genome maps.

When I acquired mine I didn't realize there was this friendly little cult here. It was a year or so after the release of the ceramic version, my AD had this one sitting around, explained the differences and offered me a great deal.

There's the older case design, the older bracelet (the new one is a significant upgrade) pre-maxi dial and the lugs (oh, the lugs!!!) none of which I delved into very deeply at the time, and make no difference to me now. I love the watch.

I believe it is THE iconic sub. Timeless.
The cleanest, classic with the least type on the dial type.
Proud owner of a Y series...

Can I ask why people null and void their Rolex Guarantee by separating the watch from the bracelet?

That watch is at least 16 years old, doubt he is worried about voiding a guarantee.

Also, who told you taking the watch off the original bracelet voids a guarantee?

It's not a "no date".. It's a Sub!!!!

The other one is a Sub Date.

I also own a G series 14060M and I love it. The price is little high. Year should be near the end of the run and the condition near perfect at that price US.

the crab pic! I wouldn't be surprised if that crab snaked the watch and wore it! That claw is large enough to accommodate the Sub. lol

I don't have a Sub yet but when I get one it will be the "no date". It is such a classic watch.

I like the 14060M for the symmetry, the 114060 feels a bit big
