Well yesterday was a good day!

I had a scheduled appointment with my AD to try on some 36mm and 41mm Datejusts (I can wear both sizes on my 7 inch wrist). We ended up chatting for well over an hour about my work, my other watches (was wearing the BB58) and future Rolex pieces. I said how much I love the rhodium dial Yacht-Master 40 - I appreciate the thinner lugs and slimmer case compared to the Sub. She said they had a 37mm version in if I would like to see it to look at the dial (compared to the blue) so went out to get it. When she returned she was smiling and hiding a coffin behind her back. She said, they had a shipment arrived that day and actually had the Yacht-Master 40 and although there are many people looking for the piece she would be happy to give it to me - I was delighted! I know it is not the most desired piece but I really don't care about that - it is a beautiful watch and I am going to enjoy it :)

I am dashing off to the beach now but pictures to follow! I will also update with my first impressions etc.

Congrats great pick up, look forward to the pics, don’t know if it’s a thing with AD’s but when I was in a store they said “oh we’ve just had a delivery today” and bought out a Bluesy which I bought on the spot even though I wasn’t particularly looking at that option.

Ha ha yes, south coast. It was sunny and warm but really windy! I have done my time up north and cant say I miss the rain!

I love the YM and I think it is one of the most underrated watches in the Rolex line up. Congrats on a GREAT acquisition and wear the heck out of it!

Thank you - I am surprised how much I have connected with this watch. Its so sleek on the wrist too - fits more like a Daytona than a Sub.

It really does fit more like a Daytona. Congrats!

Mine looked good enough that my wife just bought the 37mm... be careful!

Thanks! It’s a red date wheel, same used on the Datejust Turnograph. It came with the watch installed when purchased and decide to leave it in (also came with the factory black one) as like it a lot, both on its original silver dial as well as now with the blue dial

Fantastic watch! Congrats.

It goes very very well with grey and blue rubber bands. If you go often to the beach such bands would be a nice summer option.
