Icon19 Please maintain trf standards

I think our standards have dropped a little.

I notice on another thread some swearing.

Can we please get back on track & respect this superior forum & it's members...?

I personally wouldn't respond to anyone using profanity.

My apologies to anyone reading this who hasn't used profanity, but I really feel TRF is superb & I would hate any visitors or lurkers to get the wrong impression - especially if it's a posting by JJ!!

Just my .02

The offender has received a warning/infraction. You can see he's got a "red" card on his post.

In that case, I can consider myself very lucky....when you think of the number of times I've used words like "tosser" and "bastid"!!

There is a difference when using certain words in a joking manner while amongst friends versus some of the foul language insults we all read earlier today

Tosser is a term of endearment now isn't it?

It is sad when things get nasty, but it doesn't happen often and I think we are very lucky considering the amount of people now using the forum.

Sean:

I think that's not only true, but that the Mod Staff is very sophisticated, and even with the large size of the membership, is quite capable of distinguishing between friends kidding around, and members becoming abusive. EXCELLENT point.
best,

Unfortunately a byproduct of TRF growing is that the occasional troll will find his way in. Note to self: Must resist the urge to feed these trolls, lol.

In addition to what Tony wrote, people please refrain from discussing Folex. All such discussions should be restricted within "Watch Out" section.

Nicely worded.
IMO there is no excuse for saying bad language, let alone writing it

Sometimes in the heat of the moment I say something I soon regret. However as slow as I type that could never happen unless I was T.U.I.. Anyway I enjoy this as a clean and friendly place to visit and read, learn and sometimes show and tell watches. If I wanted to visit a "locker room" I have plenty of those saved in favorites.

One bad apple

I too found some of the comments in that thread tasteless and offensive. I propose that TRF implement a flagging option for users. That is, allow us to flag a thread for the moderators to review. Not sure if this is available already, but I sugest a little button at the corner of each post.

Not keen on censorship, but on maintaining standards for behavior here at TRF.

That's right......

And we'll try to get to it as soon as possible......keep in mind though, we might not see things exactly the way you might..
