Travelling to Geneva for a GMT Pepsi stainless steel?

Hi
We have tried in vain to buy a Rolex GMT Pepsi colour stainless steel in from Japan. So thought of planning a trip to Geneva just to get the watch. What are our chances of a score? Or do we have to raise our budget to the two tone Gold version?

Appreciate any input as i am new here. Thanks in advance.

Are you thinking that going to “the source” will get you a Pepsi? It won’t be any more likely, than going to an AD anywhere, in the world. If you are willing to do that, just call a trusted seller, listed here, on the forum, and buy a new one from him. You will pay over MSRP, but you will get your new Pepsi, and not have to travel to Europe.

I see that you are from SG. In Japan and I suspect the same for Geneva, they only sell to locals. If you are just looking for that one watch and not building a long term relationship with the AD, just go grey and be done with it. There are a lot of reputable grey with the Pepsi.
I am still waiting for a Pepsi allocation from my AD for 2 years already...haha

The OP has a track record of …1 post here, so maybe a little more leniency would be appropriate. Maybe we should understand that not everyone knows from the onset that a Pepsi is that hard to purchase new from an AD.

That being said, OP, feel welcome here. You might want either to just ask your local authorised dealers, with close to no chance if getting ine anytime soon, or to look for one on the grey market.

Unfortunately I’d say it’s a big fat zero of any chance of getting allocated a Pepsi but you could have a great holiday

Dear all
Really appreciate all your prompt & frank replies. At least, we won’t be making a fruitless trip to Switzerland anytime soon. Thanks a million, really!

Don't travel over here, chances are smaller than somewhere else. I have the impression, that waiting time here in Switzerland is much longer than in any other country in the world.

I would absolutely go from Japan to Geneva only to visit all the Rolex ADs there - you have very high chances of scoring a BLRO steel, or at least a two tone model. Best of luck!

As above, zero chance of the Pepsi, but Switzerland is a great place to visit if you get the chance

You may want to check out trusted seller Davidsw. Prices above retail, of course, but you can count on 100% honesty. That, to me, is essential, and worth a premium, when buying from other than an AD.

I can't believe that this is a serious post. Singapore is a short two hour flight from where I am based and once there you can have your pick if practically any watch your heard desires. Certainly any Rolex. Just head to Far East Shopping Centre off Orchard Road and go to one of the many Grey dealers there.

I picked up my LV Sub from Singapore Watch Exchange in Feb of last year. It was quick and painless. Watch Capital also has a very good reputation.

I live there. You have absolutely zero chance.
Most likely they will tell you to contact your local AD.

Welcome. Sorry to say but no chance.
As Kat suggested, save your money on the trip and just buy new from a trusted seller and you can have it on your wrist in 1-2 days.

^ This - I was in Geneva last summer and there is ZERO chance of purchasing anything. The salespeople were almost polite, but I was told "we are sold out" of watches, and please contact your local AD.

Maybe it’s a better idea to use the air ticket and hotel fees to buy the watch from the secondary market.
