The President is calling me, which one to choose?
So, I have been collecting for a couple years now, from the moment I (thankfully) could afford it.
My first RLX was a gift from a family member a few years ago, SS 36mm date just white dial, roman numerals, which I love and fits really well, as I have been blessed with really thin wrists (Around 6") After that, when I could, I went ahead to explore the SS Sport section, BB58, 14060, 114060, Explorer II, Daytona pre Ceramic, GMT and some vintages... And I like them, but they sadly don't fit, I am much much more confortable with a 36mm watch. So ended up selling most and keeping a 1680 Red, 5513 and 14060 because I love them, but I don't wear them often. So when the new Explorer I was announced I quickly registered my interest, and my AD delivered in only two months... Been wearing that ever since, and I love it. I feel that most brands nowadays still regard 36mm as women's size, so not many pieces to be excited for. Until I arrived to the Day-Date... and its been growing on me, a lot. I started to notice it, even more now that I am in a position allowing its acquisition, just last night watching Seve Ballesteros documentary, there it was I am seeing it as my "Rolex Grail", first full PM piece, before that, it was the current YG OF Paul Newman dial Daytona, too big. Considering that I am still under 30, (but with a classic style, all said) which dial configuration would you vote for? (I have more or less light skin) For me, Yellow Gold is a must for this watch, I would source this from my AD (would like it new, so other references are discarded), any experience on how long are DD36 taking now? - Green With Diamonds, I initially discarded this one due to the diamonds, but after seeing some videos and live pictures, it is Gorgeous! Diamonds don't stand out too much, and its already a full gold watch I guess the green won't make it that much bling If someone who has it could chime in, that would be awesome. - Champagne: The classic timeless Day-Date dial, I am a bit worried that it is "too much yellow". - White: I feel that it lacks something, and considering I already have a white dialed SS DJ, this looks like the most versatile but the one that less attracts me from the three. Any opinion or feedback is greatly appreciated! Some pictures from Rolex to illustrate: |

Didn’t vote for Green as it’s going to be hard to get and the grey market mark up is not going to be worth it. White will age well and matches most outfits casual or formal.

Grey is out of the question ATM, I am fortunate to have a good relationship with my AD so I would be going that route, but yes it looks like green is quite harder to get than the other variations.

If the President is calling you, good luck understanding. You will know as much after the call as you did before.

The President is calling me, which one to choose?
Champagne w/ sticks is the classic 36mm DD (also, most ubiquitous depending on how you look at it). I have a vintage 18038 w/ silver dial, which has patina’d towards a sundust color (shows more or less depending on lighting).
I’ve also owned the gamut (except for a Daytona, no interest) of SS sports pieces and the DD is my favorite. I still have a couple SS ones but don’t wear them much any more. It’s pretty much my DD or Garmin when I’m outside doing Colorado stuff. I’m a 42 year old mountain biker and live in Denver…so not an “old” man…yet lol. It doesn’t look out of place on my arm at all IMO. My wrist is 7” so I’d think a 36mm on a 6” wrist would be better looking and def more comfortable? |

Out of those, the green. You can’t go wrong though.
My favorite current 36 config is rose gold brown dial with diamonds. |

Based off the 1680 and 5513, I’d go 18238 double quick, YG. Classic and great dollar value relative to the new YG DD 36

Very split decision- I say champagne. Especially on 36 as someone above quoted. Green I would say and that particular dial looks a bit feminine to me.
36mm champagne day-date always was as good as it gets and worn by lots of icons over the decades. |

+1 vote for the white dial. I had hoped they were going to bring back the silver dial for the 36mm this year. Too bad ☹️

Green hombre stands out most, but get whichever comes your way first. Any DD is hard to get these days.

Why not this? I know it's not green but I think the grey sunburst creates an aura I really like

The green dial with stones doesn’t look bad at all. It’s beautiful imo.
