Hello from ABQ
I'm a new forum member from Albuquerque NM.
Been a member for several weeks but only lurking. My first Rolex was a Sub when I was in the military, around 1968, and I no longer own this watch. I currently own a Sea Dweller 16660 and a TT Sub 16803. If I can figure out how to upload a picture I will do so. My first question; My SD went to the RSC in NY back in the early nineties and w/o even asking they replaced the dial. Mine had some checking in the paint. At the time I was pleased as it was done no charge. Would it be worth the effort and expense to try and find an original matte dial and have one of the recommended watch masters on this forum replace? Thank you in advance as I learn so much more about these wonderful watches. Pacha |

Thank you joli160,
The TT Sub is a 16803, R serial #. That puts around 1987. The movement is a 3135, I thought this was a later movement and assumed it was a transplant. The bracelet is a correct # 93153 with 493 end pieces but, the clasp indicates this is a different year then the watch. All Rolex, mostly all correct but, I think a DIY build. The 16660 is all original except the dial was replaced by RSC NY sometime in the early 1990s. I'm still in all very pleased with them and happy to ware either one. |
