The H. Moser Thread

So, I noticed there are a couple of forum members with Mosers (including a couple recent incomings). I figured, with the brand gaining some steam, it's time for a dedicated thread.

I'll kick things off.

My Endeavour Centre Seconds:

I don't own these, unfortunately, but they were still amazing in the flesh.

It's virtually impossible to capture the beauty of the dial. Seriously. However, managed to get 1 good shot when I was changing the rubber strap to the matte alligator at the store. I've put it back on the rubber, because Singapore.

If anyone can source a pre-owned or discounted pin buckle for pioneer straps I would greatly appreciate it?! I don’t know the size but pretty sure the Endeavor straps are the same size.

Wow! And properly long minute hand. Why do so many watchmakers skimp on hand length?

Torque of the movement will dictate maximum hand length without affecting accuracy.
There’s also design considerations regarding lume/polished indices always being visible to aid in seeing what the time is in low light levels.

Awesome collection. Congrats on the incoming purple haze too; it's one of my favorite colors they produce.

I love the brand.
September 2018 I bought the Endeavour Center Seconds red gold Midnight-Blue fumé.
Last week I got my Endeavour Concept Blue Lagoon.

Sorry guys can’t send links yet. Didn’t reach 10 posts yet :-)

These are amazing. What is the Up Down? Is that the power reserve?

Also, I’m not familiar with the brand. How is resale? Are they deep in history?

Yes, the up/ down is the PR of the perpetual calendar movement.

Resale is unfortunately spotty (you can liken value retention to Lange); although the brand has been strengthening and prices are starting to stabilize in the secondary market a bit more.

Their history is interesting. Heinrich Moser was a Swiss national watchmaker who established a successful business in pre-Communist Russia. Apparently, he had no willing heir to take up the family business, so his company was sold upon his death in the 1870s to another business who continued to operate in Russia until they were forced to leave during the October Revolution in 1917. They operated in Switzerland until, I believe, the quartz crisis eventually did them in. The namesake was resurrected in the early 2000s by the Meylan family, who continue to run it.

Very nice pickup. The Venturer case and bubble sapphire are awesome.

I really like the Purple Haze fume. I too prefer the white gold, but I still think it works very well with the rose gold.

You're amassing quite the impressive Moser collection btw.

Thank you Speedmaster but I pass on this one. I already have two Endeavours and although the Purple Haze is a bit bigger (40,8mm) and have the HMC 343 caliber. It looks besides the colour quit similar than the Blue Lagoon.

So I went for the first time ☺️ to the Rolex AD in B'pest and asked for an offer on the DD40 rose gold/brown. Personally I prefer the WG with olive green but my wife prefers the RG with brown. Its basically the only Rolex what I am actually considering to buy now for many years. Next year I will be 50 so than I can finally wear my DD 😎
Not much different with the Purple Haze right 😉

The DD is an awesome watch, and will pair nicely with your current collection. I prefer the WG with olive dial as well, but every iteration of the DD is well executed and looks great.

Congrats in advance on the 50th

I really really like this brand, as generally my tastes veer towards uncomplicated timepieces with interesting cases and dials, and I especially like interesting dial colours or textures. Was fortunate to pick up the white gold blue lagoon after seeing it side by side with the rose gold version. Interestingly, they had a different shade of blue laqgoon. The white gold was more greener and less vibrant (slightly faded or vignette). I think it was a manufacturing variance. I requested another white gold piece which had the "true" blue lagoon.

Enjoy the pics!
