How to 15407st ?
Hi fellow Audemarspiguetoholic,
For those having some experience with the acquisition of a 15407st, is there a number of watches you need to obtain before being allocated one ? I have actually an ROO acquired last year, and now my wife will get a steel 37mm RO with diams on the bezel. I wonder if I have any chance at this point to get a 15407 as the next one. Maybe I will get a Steel Chrono Code Taupe or a silver 15510st but Honnestly the 15407 is my dream one since I am a skeleton finishions addict. If I get a 15407 I would probably not wear a 15510 anymore. I have read some threads here about 6-7-8 watches being bought before it and I don’t want to buy so much before getting that chance since I don’t really want to have multiple Times the same design. Thx everyone four the output :) |

Yeah great option aswell. But I have a big hand so I need big watches to match it.
The 15305st is a 39 mm and I like better the gold accents on the 15407 as well as the work on the piece that supports the double balanced wheel. |

I’m curious if anyone on the forum has both 15305st and 15407st?
Would those be redundant or complementary? |

It’s possible, never say never with AP but it’s highly unlikely. It’s more a 6-8 watch

based on a small sample data from this forum, you need to own between 5 and 7 pieces (USD400k+ spent)

6 watches between me and the wife from my current boutique and many AP's prior to the boutique relationship, still waiting for my first skeleton. Praying that it happens this year.

From what I have seen on TRF, it appears you will likely have to have the following pieces before a 15407:
1) Either ROO, Code, or Ladies 2) Steel RO three hander 3) Either ROO, Code, or Ladies 4) ROC 5) Jumbo 6) Potentially 15407 here….if not, perhaps a PM RO or a QP 7) 15407 if not given earlier Obviously everyone is different, and depends on your relationship and who you are, but I think the above is a reasonable journey |

I have 3 watches, I hope my next watch is the openwork. But honestly, I don't have a ROC and I really don't want one given by so many reliability problems its had

Grail watch for sure. Most folks seem to have 5 at minimum from the boutique to be be seriously considered.
I believe a member commented on a recent fix with the 4401 movement. |

What reliability issues are you referring to? I own a 26240 and have owned several ROCs in the past along with various acquaintances, never had any issues.

I think it was my 6th or 7th. Got it before the Jumbo (was prioritised on my list).

wow nice. I have a ROO, 42MM RO, and SS Code. Was told jumbo would be next for me, followed by star wheel. I hope 15407st is next after that, but wouldn't mind a RO QP first.

Feel like one may be running against the clock if they’re a few allocations away, since this ref has been around for some time and uses an older movement. Who knows when it’ll be discontinued
15407 is the nicest/my favorite skeletonized movement. I’m sure the successor will be nice as well. Best of luck to those who have their sights set on one (myself included)! |

A larger sapphire caseback would be great. But who knows what other aesthetic changes they’ll have to the skeletonized movement (looking at previous gens, looks like AP goes with a significantly different look each iteration) |

Kind of unrelated but does anyone know if the 15407 has the updated thinner bracelet?

I really like the 15407 generation / 15305 because of the AUDEMARS PIGUET printed on the edge of the 'dial'. I would take the 15407 over the 16204 or the 26735 because of this. I personally like that more than the print on the crystal. Not sure if I'm in the minority here though.
I would think a bigger movement would mean that AUDEMARS PIGUET is printed on the crystal. |

You are not the only one. I really dislike the print on the crystal. I’d ask for a custom crystal without the print haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes - it used to be common to get a tourb prior to an openworked allocation. That said with tourb prices these days, not sure how it works anymore Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I too have asked 15407 ST after receiving my 3rd piece but was turn down. My SA tells me it will take additional 3-4 pieces I should able to obtain OPENWORKED.
