Worth 13x the price?
Organizing the collection today, and couldn’t help but notice the massive market price discrepancy between these two Pepsi’s.
Is the Rolex really worth 13 Tudor BB GMTs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Everyone is pretty much paying for the name on the dial.
These 5 letters "ROLEX" costs ALOT of money. |

And many today just wear the name and not the watch.

Most would think that the watch on the left was a much more expensive/detailed build.

Not for me. YMMV. In my case the BB GMT is preferred.

The answer is no. My experience with the Daytona and BB chrono has led me to that conclusion. Rolex is still better in its execution, but it’s premium over a Tudor is unexplainable.

I don't like the Tudor. Wish I did. It's MSRP relative to the GMT Master BLRO seems sane enough. The secondary market price is anything but. And lovely though it is (and it really is) it's not a £20k+ watch. That's just bonkers.
Short answer to your question - no. |

Yes, it’s the WG Pepsi, and I will be the first to admit that it FEELS more expensive, but given that absolutely no one in the wild can tell the difference, it’s all in my head at this point.
That being said, when I wear the WG Pepsi, I feel like a captain of industry, and when I wear the BB GMT I feel like a regional manager. Maybe that’s worth the price of admission…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We are an elite group here. I'll add to my "no" that some may prefer the smaller case, the more subtle matte finish, and the durability of stainless over gold. Me, I'll pocket the difference and go buy another car with it.

I think the diameter of the BB GMT is actually larger. I had the opportunity to purchase it a couple years and I passed and decided to wait for the GMT Master II. I’m glad I did because the difference in thickness of the case is what nobody talks about in comparing the two. The GMT Master wears so much better as a result. The price difference is worth it to me at an AD. Definitely not if you’re buying gray. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I didn't know a thing about watches or brands and you showed me those two watches, the Rolex looks substantially better. Everything about it looks more refined and expensive. So, I'd say definitely worth more.
I know the topic is hated and frowned upon, but one would be remiss not to evaluate value today vs in 10 years. Definitely something to consider when comparing "worth" of items. |

Let go all of my white gold GMTs. Held on to my Tudor GMT since release and it continues to grow on me. Love it.

The FXD is a very cool watch and I look forward to warm weather to give it a run at the pool and the beach. No problem with being a fan either.

Tudor has some misses for sure and a lot of their range you couldn't pay me to wear. But the GMT, BB58 (all of em!), Pelagos (all of em, particularly the FXD), chrono, to name a few, are amazing value. I think OP is also joking comparing the little bro steel to its superior sibling, in PM nonetheless. But anyone that's had these two side-by-side I think would be lying if they didn't question the value proposition in comparison. Now if only Tudor would release that new yellow gold, green dial, BB58 with a full gold bracelet and solid gold case back (seriously want to show off this movement in a PM watch??) I'd have my next incoming decided. Back to my initial thread drift and FXD, what strap are you wearing yours on?? |

To the person who owns both, methinks no. But for the person chasing a new Pepsi, the market says yes. Pride of ownership is the intrinsic motivator. Ability to make a gain or enhance one’s perceived stature is perhaps the extrinsic push to pay far-fetched prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
