i started the watch hobby with a pam112 back in 04-05.

now i may want to go back home to pam. its the watch i have most emotional attachment to.

what is a good 2nd pam? i think im ready to get into the more "hard to get" ones.

I have a good feeling my second will be a submersible, either 024 or 025. Sub didn't seem like the right first PAM, but definitely a good second as it looks different and serves a different purpose than a base. If you want hard to get, maybe 382 turns you on...

Worth looking at the 42 Radiomir range.
They look the part and have all the good things that PAM are known for.

They also can use the common strap size of 24/22.
So best of both worlds, without wearing a watch that's not large and still screams Panerai.

After all, the crown protection device wasn't part of the early examples, the "wire lug" look was.

Good luck in your search and welcome back, there'll be a piece for you out there.

cheers

if you want something without the crown guard and 45mm or smaller, 231, 190, 338, 268 or 346?

If you didn't already have the 112 my answer would have been 390 but I guess they are probably too similar. If it's in the budget I would second the 190 recommendation above but if not then the 210 would compliment your 112 nicely. You could also look at something in a 50's case like a 312. There are tons of great choices and it really depend on what void in the collection you are looking to fill. Enjoy the hunt and be sure to let us know what you decide to get!

Try one of the boutique SE s like the 416, 417, etc. they're limited runs and marinas. Also, 44mm.

Imho, If youre looking for a more modern look with in house manual movement and below 47mm, then 233 is the best so far. Other than that, try looking at 45mm rads, the charm of a rad will grow on you.. Happy hunting.

most radiomir will suit you. 183 or 190 is best option to get seconds hand on the radiomir.... if you want luminor again, then the 'hard to get' ones can be pre-V or pre-A luminor.... :) happy hunting

You can always hide the 3rd hand below the hour hand. It will go accordingly.

Depends what your plans are for your collection in the medium to long term...I think you should consider what your THIRD watch will be in your collection to help you make the decision for your second watch. Or if you decide on only a two watch strategy, that's also good to know. Personally, I like a 3 watch collection: stainless steel diver watch, a weekend fun watch (Panerai); and a dress watch... however, I haven't stuck to my plan...dummy!

you already have a good collection there. i already have a diver (PO) , gmt (gmt2c) and a pam 112.

pams will always be pams. there is no logic to it. im just thinking if i should just go with pam as a dress watch or if there are other good chronos or take a wait and see attitude.

Bcacncnc, the weekend watch allocation didn't work for me.
Htc8p, maybe you should get a radiomir. I think they look every bit the part both for weekends and for weekday work.

My first Pam is the 351, and i'm rather sure the next will be a rad.
Personal preference is something with a date, and there are only that few rads to choose from. Heh

Hope you find your watch soon!
