DD green dial comparison & some more

I picked up today my DD with baguettes only dial and thought to share a comparison with the ombre dial, so it my help whoever is interested in these 2 beauties.

My take on it is as it follows: the sunburst green dial spreads on all the surface of the dial since it lacks the ombre effect and has a warmer tone than the ombre. The bright green dial on this DD is the same that we all know very well from the green Daytona, Sub Date LV and past generation of the DD 36. IMO, the baguette diamonds have a more independent presence since they don't have gold surroundings, like the diamonds on the ombre dial.

All in all, there is no wrong choice between them. In my case, i instantly knew i want the bright green dial when it was launched at W&W this year.

When i picked up my watch today, i also had a look at an OF RG Daytona and snapped some photos of the blue ombre with diamonds DD 36.

The RG OF Daytona is the next watch I'm looking at and both green dials for the DD are great it's just a matter of preference

I have the RG Brown Ombre dial. I really like it but do wish it had baguette diamonds instead.

Hope you'll get that Daytona asap! You are correct on the assessment of the 2 green DD dials.

I remember i've seen photos of your RG DD ombre dial, looks terrific! I completely agree with you about the baguette diamonds, i really hoped they would release them on yg or wg instead of just platinum version and at W&W they did. I could no longer pass on this

Congratulations

Congrats on the daydate, fantastic choice, wear it in good health.

As you noted, I don't think you can go wrong with either dial choice....

Wife and I felt the baguette dials gave the watch a more 'masculine' feel as opposed to the other diamond dial, but that's just our own personal thoughts....

Thank you! I remember your thread when you and your wife chose her DD and i agree with you, baguette diamonds have a more masculine feel, even though both are fantastic choices to own.

Yes, they are both 36. I also made a separate thread for my DD.

Great comparison pics.

Your 36mm DD is the absolute best in the range imo.

That dial is nicer than the ombré 36/40, lacquer green DD40, and olive dial DD40.

The baguettes on a 36 are also a game changer.

Thank you very much for your appreciation! Baguettes are fabulous! How would you compare this dial with the ice blue one with baguettes? Not that i am biased, but as wonderful the one on the platinum version is, in some lighting the ice blue becomes greyish, sort of muted.

I prefer the more vibrant green dial and the baguettes as well.
Congrats again!

Anyone have the 40mm lacquer? I’m considering it but curious if any owners have become tired of the green after time
