What I prefer on each:

116613LB : Bracelet,maxi case
16613 : Aluminium bezel insert,smaller hour markers.

The blue dials are EXACTLY the same in colour.

116613LB is better overall, but there is a balance to the 16613 design, that has a charm of its own .

I had a 16613 for 18 years and started wearing it less and less. It just became too flashy for me.

Traded it in towards a new BLNR in 2015 and never looked back.

I sold my 116613LB early 2018. Which I regret but then I was able to get a 116618LB at a discount. Never again.

I was just about to do this exact same post. Beat me to it.

I had the TT Ceramic and 6 months later tried on the Full gold version, went home with it and sold the TT. I’ll never sell it. And if I couldn’t have afforded it, I’d have always kept the TT. I’ve got some cool watches, but this is always my #1.

And I don’t get the complaints about this watch being loud and not versatile? It’s yellow gold and a flashy blue, it’s ULTRA clear that it’s not a conservative watch right from the get-go. So why buy it if you want a more conservative watch? Go get a Speedmaster or something. That being said, I find it wears best with casual all the way up to semi formal, but never higher than that.

I had a bluesey but sold it after a year, I have to say it is really not that versatile or wearable. The yellow gold along with the blue face makes it very blingy. Sure it looks great in photos but the practicality of wearing it to the office or even casually at the weekend meant it got less and less wrist the longer I had it.

I had the 116613LB but upgraded to the 116618LB. Years ago, I initially wanted a 16613LB. However, after handling both watches I found the six digit model to be vastly superior in build quality and feel.

i have wanted one, but it seems that the piece is either loved and beautiful, or thought to be too flashy. Its interesting, because it isnt a solid gold day date, but is more flashy than a regular sub. Tough decision.

it is still a great and magnificent watch. if you don't care about attention (it's fairly eye-catching imho) and you love it. why not ?

Let's add a pic here...

Had a bluesy and I loved it. The glide lock is as close to perfection as a band can get, but alas, at that time, I wanted a 126333 more, then that got sold and finally ended this decade with a DD40

I had a "D" series 16613 that I bought from a friend and had for a few years. Lovely watch but I wound up selling it last year to parlay it into a AP 15400; which I happen to have sold today.

I may get back into one. But if I do, it would be the ceramic and have my name on the papers instead of someone elses.

Since buying the CHNR and a Everose gold DJ41, I am thinking of trading in mine. Now that I have seen and worn Rolex's TT rose gold watches, the yellow gold seems to be out of place in my collection.

As beautiful as the bluesy is, it seems to me to be too flashy and is not getting much wrist time. My DJ41 has taken the place of the bluesy in the flashy watch section.

Keep it for now. I found I get bored of Rose Gold especially the Rolex tone of it because its too coppery in many lighting conditions and hence sometimes it looks unflattering.

YG is nicer in many ways.
