Great FAKE!! Ebay seller Acecollection
FYI, I bought this watch
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Submar...vip=true&rt=nc come to find out its a really good fake weighs 156 kg, movement 3135 is spot on, came with appraisal from actual jewelry store Arnik Jewellers Canada, he confirmed authentic even during a conversation. The bezel is way off, etched Rolex crown on sapphire is off centered and sloppy, ref. number on case is engraved sloppy, bracelet engraving is off centered, 8 #serial number is off centered, crown turns rough, bezel is not as fluid, etc... WOW I can't believe what a good fake this was. I am impressed. I had 2 other orig. 116610 side by side with it and it was difficult to tell. Only small details made it obvious and an amazing watchmaker, thanks Gene! it's a good looking watch, too bad its fake I really wish it were real. Well, now have to wait for eBay to get me my money back. I thought I would share my experience, be so , so careful the fakes are getting so much better every day. I never would have known if i didnt do some research and have an authentic 116610 to compare it to side by side. |

I'm confused. Are you saying prohunter modified a fake Rolex? That movement looks pretty authentic.

Im curious too. The movement looks good to me. The bezel is going to turn rough due to the coating and is even stated in the auction. The etched crown on the sapphire not being centered has been seen to come out of Rolex with that crown in different orientations and is not always centered.

The movement is genuine, even with not best photos, I guarantee its a genuine movement.
So movement is NOT fake! I can not see the rehaut or marking between the lugs But the movement is 100% genuine adam

Movement does look authentic however-
What about the bezel lume pip color where it is bright white, the dial claimed to be rolex but refinished the M placement is off at 300 m, the hands appear to be not Rolex minus the color of course, the engraving looks off on clasp, the bezel takes only 29 clicks to go 1/4 around and 31 clicks @ 1/2 way mark etc.. and the biggest issue I see is the serial number placement on rehaut, 8 digit placement centered and not beginning between the 26 and 27 min marker!! Am i correct or is this authentic, i saw the appraisal from Arnik Jewelers and I spoke with him , he said its authentic but they could work together.

It's a modified watch, how can you expect everything to be 100% original rolex? The movement, case, bracelet, bezel and clasp look fine. The dial looks off but it's modified as stated. The pip could just be angle or light. I am not quite sure what your expecting from a modified watch.

I guess the serial number being off is not an issue your all saying. Every article I read
http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-To-Ident...3597900/g.html or http://ispotfake.com/watches/how-to-...y-counterfeit/ After I read these articles , I assumed they were correct. |

I know the watch was modified clearly however I expected an original Sub 116610 with dlc coating. Maybe the gentleman that i had authenticate it was incorrect and its authentic, maybe Rolex made an error with the serial number. I also read an article that the new Super Fake V7 Asian Noob model made improvements by moving the serial number over, that sent red flags.

They probably replaced the lume pip for the DLC. The dial was obviously heavily modified, so your critique of the "m" makes no sense. I'm not sure what to make of the serial # on the rehaut, but you're comparing its alignment to a modified dial, so again that could be your answer. The laser etched crown is likely misaligned because Prohunter put it back on that way.
Basically, given the degree the watch has been modded, there's nothing convincing me that it's fake. Have you called Prohunter and talked to them about it? I assume they keep records of Rolex serials. You may also ask them if they check authenticity before modding. Do you have the original warranty card? The more sinister explanation is that they take a genuine Rolex, pull out the movement and swap it into a fake case that they've modded with their DLC and stuff. Since it's been modified already, you'd be hard-pressed to notice. You open the case and the movement is genuine so you think, "Hey, all good." Then they take your real case and put in a fake movement and sell it to someone as a genuine Rolex. Basically, the scam would be turning 1 genuine Rolex into 2. This is totally my imagination... not accusing Prohunter of anything. But it could theoretically work. |
