Finally bought red Black Bay

After months of research on Rolex and Omegas, I finally purchased a watch with Rolex DNA in it, i.e. Tudo Black bay. It's been a couple months and I love this watch. I always thought Tudors to be poor man's Rolex but, not this watch. It has carved its own path forward for watch collectors.
It was bought in SS, and I added the brown retro let her strap with deployment buckle as a separate item.
Though it's a sports watch, but, I have found it to be truly amazing at night time, giving different shades to its red bezel and golden hands. Before this, I was trying to get a ND SS submariner, but, now I will wait for that and maybe add an omega moon watch 39.7 in my collection. Here are some pictures of this beauty...
My opinion, don't be like me when making a decision buying this piece. SlRolex and this Tudor are two different timepieces and can co-exist in a collection.

Nice pick up. I tried one on the other day.

Just picking up on that old chestnut that it’s a poor man’s Rolex - I think that’s horribly phrased but here’s how we should probably think about it.

Rolex is positioned against a particular market based on resources, tastes, desired use. Let’s face it, not everybody can afford a Rolex or a Tudor Black Bay for that matter.

I think about the Tudor in terms of being more accessible but with really good genes. So no, not a poor man’s anything. It’s a legitimate watch of first choice.

I like the red but couldn’t sell the colour scheme at home.

Yes, at the time there weren’t too many red bezels around. For some reason i sang to me with its red bezel, subtle brown/black hue in the dial and the gold hands and markers. Then having three different bracelet and strap choices did make it a good value for the money.

The watch looks great with the brown straps. Red bezel really rocks too!

How thick does it sit on the wrist?

Do you have problems with a botton long sleeve getting hung up on it?

I wear mine under a cuff all the time, without a problem.

Congrats. I have its blue brother and it is just a beautiful watch. I replaced a dssd with it and a Pelagos. And could not be happier.

And you are spot on. A poor man does not buy a $2000+ watch.

Great looking watch! Red bezel looks fantastic and nice wearing a brand you need to "know" to recognize.

Hi! I'm new to TRF and have been reading up to gain insight and information on Rolex, Tudor, and Omega time pieces. Like you, I did some research on the Tudor BB and Omega. For me, it basically came down to the Black Bay Black SS or Speedy SS. Finally, I pulled the trigger and purchased the Black Bay Black SS from our local AD three days ago. I was very close to choosing the leather strap option because it looked so cool and defiintely gives the watch an entirely different look. Would you be able to tell me where you purchase your original leather strap from? Appreciate your Thanks for your help. Also, it's great to know that you love your watch. There were a couple of times that I've wondered if I made the right choice...
Aloha,
Jay

Hello Jay,

I bought the SS version of Black Bay that came with black nato strap. Then I ordered the Brown leather and deployment buckle through the same AD I bought the watch from. It cost me another ~$500 for brown leather strap and buckle.
