My son saved up and got his first watch

My 16 year old son saved for the past few years and finally got his first watch. Little back story he loves watches and jewelry and actually wants to become a jeweler. He got a dj36 older style with diamonds. Non factory of course but this is what he wanted. I think it’s pretty cool. He is very proud of it.

He likes to shop at icebox? Is he a member of the crips/bloods?

Nevertheless, congrats to him on his achievement

Please don’t give in to these stupid comments from these forum members.
And much respect to you and your son. I love that you allowed him to get what he wants.

Seems like there is one in every crowd these days. Congratulations to your son on being able to work hard and get what he wants. Save some cash for a market too......

Lmao at the ignorance and racist comments.

What does a diamond Rolex have to do with Icebox jewelry, rap, or grills.

It's like the sun, best not to stare or look directly at it.

Good on him for saving. That's a tough thing to do for some at any age, much less 16.

Appreciate that he saved up for it. But a 36mm datejust with aftermarket bezel? For a 16 year old? You couldn’t steer him towards a submariner??

I misread that as ‘pretending skills’

Unusual choice for a young man but if it makes him happy

Good for him. Proud for you both. It’s something he wanted, saved & paid for.
His opinion is the only one that counts.

Let me take a wild guess...working part-time, more during the summer and vacations. And maybe even some OT here and there.

Thank you

I was going to be more Clint Eastwoody with a reply but you saved me the typing.

That and it’s a Rolex forum. The parents here know people with big lawns to cut and fancy cars to wash.

Yes In fact he does work part time and has for years. I have a Construction business and when time allows him he loves to get up at 4:30 am come with me clean my shop , mix paint etc. my guys that appreciate the fact he works hard for his dad. It is great to see a young man put in work to get what he wants. Very proud of him. So not sure why do many people have hate for a young man working hard

OP, you have done well to teach your son a work ethic. That is the hole point to me. Congrats.
