Tudor - Serial Number Database Project..
Tudor watches have become more popular today than they ever have been. While attempting to learn more about their Tudor watch, many collectors or owners have been at a loss, or researched fruitlessly to try to find how their Tudor fits into the Rolex/Tudor production process.
We already have some information and links in our Reference Library, and some good work has been started by several. We hope to collate all the information eventually into one central area or board. With those thoughts in mind, and after reviewing the databases available for other makes at other sites, we are asking that if you have a Tudor, or access to one, feel free to provide information to populate this database. Provide the information in a post, or pm me with the information using this exact format... - Serial Number - (please provide at least the first 4 digits and the number of total digits) - Quarter/Year - Only if documented (case back imprints, Tudor service statements, original papers, etc.) Do not speculate on the date....only if positively known - Model Name/number - Movement - calibre, serial #, jewel content, rotor description, hack/non-hack - Case/Bracelet - metal type, description of: bezel, winding crown, case back imprints, case dimension in millimeters excluding crown, type and model # of bracelet, end link numbers, case back inscriptions - Dial/Hands - color of dial, description of: hour markers, metal and style of hands, spell out lettering on the dial, location of luminous dots if any, any unique characteristics if original dial and hands - Notes - your name or identifier as the contributor of the information, any corroborating data such as actual dates from paperwork, original retail store names, original sales invoice, Tudor papers, history of the watch, etc.

Old Tutor Prince Submariner
Greetings to all:
I'm a new member (first post) My watch is as follows: Tutor Prince Submariner S/N 4003XX Model 7928 Pointed crown guard acrylic crystal about 46 years old Watch has never been restored polished or modified but the watch band which came on the watch was changed out many years ago. The watch has not been serviced in about 30 years. The watch has been in my desk for about 25 years. I took it out yesterday shook it for a while and then put it on my wrist. It is running but gained about 2 mins in 36 hours. I need to have it serviced. Who would you have service such a old watch as this? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I hope to post some pictures. Thank you! |

new addition..
another tudor 7016-0 from 4th quarter of 68' serial number is:741192 type II case so we can safely say that the tudor 7016-0 changed from a type I case with semi-pointed crown guards to the type II case with the more rounded crown guards we know today in 1968..somewhere between the first and fourth quarter.. |
