A cute story
Today I went looking for fakes on eBay.com. I ran a search for Rolex, with Newly Listed as the filter. The scams, replicas and compromised accounts jump out at you if you know what to look for.
I ran through a few until I came upon a Sub 16610 for $100. The first thing I checked was the seller’s registration, which was 22 July, ‘18. Then I checked his other items for sale: a pack of nicotine gum, a Nixon watch for $79, the Sub, a Cartier and a Panerai, all three at $100. When I saw he had feed-back of three, with a single purchase and sales of two nicotine gum packs totaling less than $100, I reported the three expensive watch auctions as scams. There were two funny things about his listings: he was donating part of his sales proceeds to charity through eBay, and the Sub auction was stolen from Becker Time, photos, copy verbatim and all, down to the Becker Time warranty. The charity contribution diversion was a nice touch. Then I sent the seller a message, telling him the charity contribution from the proceeds of scam auctions was an hilarious move. His response was swift and colorful, colorful enough in fact to warrant a report to eBay. The three watch auctions were removed almost immediately and the seller was banned within 15 minutes of the report to eBay for inappropriate language. All in all, a very good result. |

You should post the colorful response in the joke section where colorful language is allowed.
