6263 - bargain or fake

I spotted this auction on the sale room for a 6263
I assumed it was a frankenwatch given the very low estimate on it and the auctioneers mention of the movement being modified.

It ultimately sold for £22000 plus hammer.

I'm not a Daytona expert but I'd be happy wearing that on my wrist.

So my question is was this a bargain or did someone get swept away bidding on a cobbled together watch

Appallingly bad fake dial etc, etc

Someone's had their trousers/pants removed.

These provincial auction houses are often dumping sites for snide/dodgy pieces.

A well known large UK used retailer has in the past used one for selling on px'es that they got wrong !

I mean, it's not a bad fake, it's not a cheap fake - there was effort here but everything is wrong. I love the fight between 18 JEWELS and 17 RUBIES. Would be heard to tell on the wrist of the guy next to you but falls apart immediately on inspection

That’s quite a lot for a watch with mostly fake parts.
Dial, hands, case, bezel, movement all look fake to me.

There may be a law against selling counterfeits.
