Which app for watch collection?

I’d appreciate your thoughts on a great app for tracking your watch collection?

Anyone use WatchBox?

Any concerns about privacy or security with any particular app’s?

Have to agree and now almost 79 years old and I use my own brain and have no need of any app to track any watch.

I used to use Excel. I decided it's too much work to track what and when. Another way is to participate in the WRUW threads. A photo makes a great record.

I use my eyes. I put them away and then when I want to remember what I have, I go and look at them and remember I have more than one.

Whaaat? I always appreciate the jokes, but I’m amazed seems like a lot of you don’t keep careful tabs on what you own. Keep track with you eyes? that’s pretty really old school or tracking not a lot of pieces. Surely you keep track of dates of purchase, dates of sale / trade, purchase price for insurance purposes, no?

When you state it that way, I have a book that I hand write all of the dates of "special" purchases I make. All of my stuff I like to keep like my warranty cards, expensive stuff, stay in the safe.

An app is a soultion to a problem that does not exist

Their not jokes, like someone here said, it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

In your and the other persons view, perhaps, but as I’m now coming to realize due to this post, a lot of people use a service like this provided by C24, watch box, and other providers to track purchases, sales, prices, insurance, etc. so, actually, quite useful for people who perhaps are more active, or have bigger collections than they can simply keep an “eye” on, as someone suggested.

I use a spreadsheet and recently input my collection into c24 for kicks. It gets tricky but once I sell something I noted date and price sold, strikeout the text and then hide the row. This makes for a nice chronological record and when the show hidden rows function is used I see all the history it’s crazy.

What I don’t like about c24 is it only offers to delete a watch and not archive it. After I input everything it blew me away showing the “value” of my collection.

This is precisely what I thinking about — preciate it. Seems handy to have. Didn’t realize c24 offered this. Any Concerns about data privacy?

Same here; provides some cheap entertainment. I don't sell, so haven't run into questions of what to do in that case.

Don’t use any apps due to privacy concerns. Good old Excel is plenty for me.

Anybody using excel to track the value of their collection as part of overall assets allocation and net worth?

I use Mint to track my finances and you can also add any assets and update them regularly if you are into tracking your financial process.
