Incoming but something very different...

I have been thinking for a while about where my collection is heading and as a person who likes variety, it occurred to me that I was really only looking for variety in the Rolex brand. The variety didn’t necessarily need to be from the same brand and although I love Rolex I just wanted something different.

Having spoken to a few people about independent brands and after a lot of research, I decided to go with something from a brand that is relatively new when it comes to the watchmaking powerhouses.

Many of you will have heard of F.P. Journe through various channels but for me before all the research, it was just another name/brand that was up and coming.

Throughout my research, it became more and more clear that Francois Paul Journe, as well as being one of the best and most creative watch-makers of our era, also enjoys the design element of the watch so much so that at times the movements are created to fit the design that he has in mind.

Talking of design, I would say the design language of the brand really hit home with me and I think the balance between classic artistry and modern workmanship has really been perfected by Journe. Although, I know some may disagree with this, there is no doubt that his work is always a piece of art.

Anyway, the piece I chose to purchase was the Chronometre Souverain and without boring you all about why I chose this, I’ll share a couple of pictures and let the watch do the talking

I still need to take some good shots of the movement too because it’s absolutely gorgeous but for now see below

Ps. the compressed photos don’t the watch any justice!

Congrats, OP! That’s such a beautiful timepiece, stunning. You made an excellent choice.

May I ask what your wrist size is?

Enjoy it in great health

Man you did the right thing. I truly believe we are at the very early stages of a watch brand that will be followed and loved for decades. FPJ is the biggest and best thing to happen to watches in a generation in my very humble opinion.

Just beautiful! Don’t tell anyone, but more versatile than the elusive Bleu.
