Both could be fake. As could a box. And swing tag.

I can't tell anything from those pics. Sorry. Someone might know more though. The actual watch is the important thing to look at. If the watch is real chance would have it the serial numbered card is real too.

If they can make a watch that makes it almost impossible to spot that it is a fake - how hard do you think the card is to make for them?

I have a card from that jeweler and it says just WEMPE JEWELERS, no address and the date in MM/DD/YYYY format from 2019. I am the second owner, so I didn't purchase it. It's been at an RSC since March due to covid.

There are known fake cards just like you describe with Wempe printed on them.
Did you purchase a watch with said card?

Yes, I meant didn't purchase directly from the AD, but via third party. Have the bill of sale as well from Wempe. No matter what, will find out soon if it's legit or not bc it's been at the rsc since 3/1. Any pics of these fake cards?

The fake everything even the new hologram on new cards. And they do that to perfection.
They fake the movement, it looks identical now to the original except for few discrepancies that only a pro watchmaker can tell. Be careful.

You’re worried that the watch you just dropped $20k on is fake, and you’re posting a photo of the plastic card? The easiest part of the whole package to fake?
I’d think you’d want to post photos of the watch?
Good luck.

Have to agree. The reliance people have on plastic cards, receipts and boxes blows the mind.
“The watch can’t be fake, it came with this plastic card that says it’s real”!

Not sure if this matters but all my warranty card #'s begin with 5497 - that are 16 digits long and have been purchased from ADs in Canada. OPs card # is 16 digits long but begins with 0991, possibly US cards begin with a different string but maybe someone can confirm?

I am pretty sure I can fake a warranty card (with 0 skills or knowledge on how to do so). I’d post pics of the watch. Not that you are asking, but If watch is real and card is fake, I’d be slightly upset, as you could have saved some $$ on a deal.

The first thing that looks right to me is the stack of lettering under the crown at 12. I’m familiar with some that are a little wider there and an obvious tell but possibly not always the case?! More Pics!!

Any crook could sell you a fake watch and a legit card.

Buy from a reputable seller.

I define a reputable seller as someone who has a solid track record of satisfactory sales, a reputation to uphold, and will resolve any issues post sale.

Reputable sellers have also unintentionally sold fakes. Even they can't tell them apart from real.

It's impossible to tell anything from the images you posted.

It's possible that members can sniff out a fake online, but really, when you're talking $20k, wouldn't you rather have a professional authenticate the watch?

It’s hard now because of the situation. The AD listed on the card has been closed since March 17th themselves. If you can find a trusted watchmaker that is operating near you I would take it to them and have them it open it up and inspect it. There are places near me that now perform this inspection service with Rolex trained watchmakers for around $85. Well worth it if you’re in doubt.

I have made several purchases fom a US AD. The US AD cards of the pieces I have purchased only state the dealers name. I have only purchaseed from an AD and not an AD Boutique. Maybe boutiques get the address on the card. Someone suggested opening the watch but the 4130 movement has already been completely counterfitted and has been seen in replicas. The person examing the watch needs exaact photos of a 4130 to verify colors and finishes of metal pieces, as well as the materials used to make the pieces, and of course the presence of microstella nuts which are usually missing in low end replicas.
