Is this trying too hard or just happen to think alike?

I love both AP and Zenith. The only watch that was never sold by AP in 2023 looks great and probably unobtainable even if it's a regular production piece.

The zenith on the other hand is much more accessible yet look very much alike. I love them both anyway - but is this a coincidence or literally an inspiration from one brand to another?

Everyone copies everyone. Maybe the RO is somewhat inspired by the OG defy, we will never know.

Personally I don't love white ceramic in person. It doesn't look great.

Black ceramic however, is awesome. Zenith has the defy in ceramic which is pretty sexy but the Hublot integral is an even better value. Same price used except with a chronograph. Same parent co.

I have the black skellie and wear it often. I feel the blue pvd won’t age well. Its a VERY comfy watch

I own the Defy21 in full ceramic bracelet and trust me the level of finishing on the ceramic bracelet and case done by Zenith is on par of AP full ceramic any version which will be marked at multiples of Zenith list price. So much more value to buy Zenith.

I held a full ceramic AP royal oak before, and also a black Zenith full cermaic. I also feel the level of finishing is not that far off. The AP probably has a more complicated polishing finish on the bracelet. But becsuse of the material I really can't say it can be appreciated as much as gold or steel. I'll be just happy with a zenith especially knowing it's a fraction of the price and the movement is probably more reliable.

I think no problem to go for the zenith at all. Especially since that AP is literally on no one’s radar.
