Praise for glidelock

Hey guys, more recently w/ the change in temp, I've noticed that my sub date (126610) doesn't fit as snug as it did before. I then changed the glidelock setting to one-click smaller and it once again fits so perfectly. I never realized how important fit was to wearing a watch, but now that I have glidelock, I can't imagine not having a watch w/o it. Just feeling like the watch sits so perfectly just above the wrist area gives me a sense that it is a part of me (if you can understand that)

However, I am on the list for a DJ 41 at my AD... for the watches w/o this feature, do you guys make adjustments or just deal w/ the fit as it changes w/ the weather?

The datejust has a half link that folds out of the clasp. Rolex calls it “easylink comfort extension link.” Have it on my GMT and works great no issues. Have a Sub with glidelock and it is better, but you give up comfort with the giant clasp in my opinion.

This. The Glidelock has the more incremental size adjustments, but the easylink on the non-diver watches should also give you a perfect fit.

Must admit, when I see any watch on a bracelet now without some form of fast, on-the-fly adjustment, it makes me appreciate the Rolex even more.

That’s why the newer subs are loved by many

Glidelock is fantastic.

I rarely use easylink. Just too large of an adjustment for me, but it has been useful during some extreme heat/humidity days.

Both seem to give me enough adjustment. One of the reasons I like the straps on the Panerai part of the collection. Easy adjustment.

Glidelock is amazing imo and once you have it, it’s hard not to want it on all watches.

As already mentioned, the DJ41 has easy link which allows for a 5mm adjustment on the fly and it also has the 3 micro adjustment holes that require a tool to adjust.

From my experience, you’ll need to wear the bracelet just a little loose in the colder months and then the 5mm provided by the easy link should be enough to get you through the warmer months…but it really depends on how hot/humid it gets, what you’re eating/drinking, and how much your wrists swell in general.

It’s nothing to be worried about. You’ll find a decent fit..even if it means seasonally adjusting the bracelet using the micro adjustment.

Keep in mind that the DJ wears a lot lighter and slimmer than the sub so it’s not as much of an issue in general.

I only had one watch with Glidelock, the OG DSSD. While I liked the convenience of it the size of the clasp is too big to me. I wish the smaller versions now on some Daytonas and Yachtmasters was standard across the board for Professional models.

I second this.

Praise for glidelock

The easy link extension is perfect on my OP 36, as it’s a small and relatively light watch, saying that I find the easy link too much of a jump in size on bigger and heavier watches, like the Exp II, and dare I say even the DJ41.

As you say, I also think the glidelock is perfection on my Submariner, with the large and heavy case, its great, at the expense of a large, bulky clasp.

I think the glidelock on the sub is incredible and good to see Tudor following suit. It’s even forced others to follow - omega speedmaster (although not a diver clasp obviously). Micro adjust of some form should be standard across the industry. It really is that important.

The DJ has the easy link which makes the clasp looks refined and can be expanded without removing your watch from the wrist.

I like this easy link system much more and find the glidelock very ugly and cumbersome in comparison. All you see is clasp and you never get it right in one go.

The best however is the Deepsea clasp whereby the size of the clasp doesn’t matter. It fits the size of the watch and very easy to use.
