Congratulations! Did you have a lot of spend history? Did you think it was coming soon, or was it out of the blue?

Spent $80k, sold back several watches to the same AD at a loss because I don’t wear them much. A few watch repairs. Referred a few clients. Most importantly, I have a good relationship with the owner.

You don't have a good relationship with anyone at that AD. 5 YEARS and the Owner is a personal friend? $80k in spend and sold back at a loss? AND the funny part is that you think you actually have a good relationship with the owner!

I have ZERO spend with 4 different Rolex AD's until I purchased watches from them.

Since August 2020 I've purchased the following with ZERO spend and ZERO previous relationship. The longest that I waited was 6 months for the Sprite. I called one out-of-state AD and 6-weeks later they called and then shipped me the Submariner. I never even went in the store.

GMT Pepsi on Jubilee
Submariner (40mm)
OP 31mm (ladies - turquoise blue dial)
GMT Sprite
Submariner 41mm (126610LV)

But you don’t have a panda from an AD. Big difference from the watches you were able to purchase…..

I don't have a Ferrari either. But I didn't ask for one. Didn't ask for a Panda either. You point?

It actually isn’t a big difference. Pepsi on jubilee is just as tough to get

Yea, posts like this are annoying, doesn't acknowledge the canyon between difficult of acquisition between those listed models and the Panda.

You are correct. With that said, I would re-evaluate my relationship with that AD.

Such an aggressive post but you’ll probably say, ‘I’m just pointing out that you don’t have a good relationship’ yet no one asked you. Wild.

I didn't ask you either. Yet here we are. See how that works?

Aggressive? No. Direct? Blunt? YES!!! Someone sure needs to point out to this gentleman that his "friend" isn't so friendly.

Let me fix your post for you:

“Congrats OP, thats a fantastic pickup and glad it worked out for you after such a long wait and made you happy! Goes to show that some back-and-forth with an AD is required to get such a piece, but as long as it works for you then that's all that matters.

Thanks btw into giving us some real insight into what YOU purchased prior to get the Daytona from an AD"

See how easy that was? Same outcome and everyone is much happier... You should try it

Those are your words, Malone. The OP may have a spend history with the AD, but he didn't have to date the AD's like you did apparently. I hope they liked your flowers, wine, gifts and funny anecdotes.

Oh, and you definitely asked for a Daytona. You said your AD was working on getting you one if you need that quote, too.

Big Congratulations to you OP!

It’s just wrong! It’s hard to get allocated a SS Daytona. Kudos to the OP for doing what it takes, and being patient. He was rewarded in the end.

KMalone, wow u have had some great luck . I am trying hard to get a nice piece this year from an AD for a milestone bday. No luck yet. I been really wanting a Batman, White Daytona, Blue Skydweller, something nice to always remember the bday. I put my name down in 2016 for a Daytona, nothing yet! I have about six months til my bday.
