Yellow Gold vs Rose Gold
Is yellow gold really flashier than rose gold... If both stand out, is yellow truly a flashier watch...?

I don't think YG is flashier than RG.
I have a YG DD40 and went with yellow as I have fair skin and just thought it looked better on me.

Agree here.....Fair skin here....I have wanted to love Rose G, but it just doesn't look great on me. But, yellow looks amazing...IMHO.

My opinion is that it’s not the watch that’s flashy but the person who’s wearing it. It depends on what you wear with it. Just my 2 cents.

While I agree with the sentiment the opposite is true for me, when I wear my YGs I am much more conservative and aware than when I wear my SSs, also comes with living in London these days I guess.

Yellow Gold vs Rose Gold
My SA and I both agreed that red gold doesn’t look good on me, while the yellow gold pops. To me, the yellow stands out more. It’s all subjective , though.

I think RG is a little more stealthy than YG. When I wear my RG Daytona it doesn't stand out much at all in my opinion.

I don’t think so. They both have a distinctive shine that is certainly not under the radar. White gold perhaps slightly less but it depends entirely on the watch.

I don't notice one hue flashier than the other. I just like the way Rolex yellow gold looks on my skin tone as compared to Rolex Everose gold.

RG is a lot more subdued in my opinion. It's got some shine to it, yes, but especially on my skin, while it doesn't exactly blend in, it doesn't stand out nearly as much.
I say this based off trying off a lot of RG pieces in stores. I've only ever owned full YG and full steel pieces. |

[QUOTE=KatGirl;13358512]That would be a bad marketing ploy, as they also sell a lot of yellow gold. I haven’t heard of any problems with the Rolex 18 k yellow gold changing color.
Kat I agree 100% and was surprised that Rolex marketed it that way. There is no problem with YG, that is just the normal aging process of any YG. In 2005, Rolex introduced Everose, their proprietary blend of 18-karat pink gold that combines pure gold, copper, and a small amount of platinum to create a unique rose gold alloy that will never lose its warm red color. The platinum locks in the copper’s natural pink tint, which allows the metal to retain its original color. Even after prolonged exposure to environmental factors that would otherwise diminish its warm, rose-colored tint the color holds true. |

skin tone is a VERY big consideration. RG seems to blend in with my skin. YG seems to pop.

Depends on your skin tone, build and personal taste. I find full RG and TT RG too flashy for me. I don't wear full YG well either but TT YG works for me. Each to our own.

Neither RG or YG will be under the radar but yellow gold definitely stands out much more.
In certain lighting, Rolex ERG can actually look copper-ish or even steel. |

Yellow gold just SCREAMS gold! Definitely the more flash of the two IMO.

IMO, yes...incrementally. That is to say, if you held one in each hand, then the YG would seem a little more so.
But, they're both eye-catching. If you see one in the wild, your eyes will definitely be drawn to it. Either metal. |
