SD43 Owners Thread.

Lets start the Month off well, with a new owners thread for the new SD43

Please post with a picture.

From what i understand Aurum Group had 25 off these watches, it will be interesting how many forum members managed to get one.

Thanks
Mark

Mine came via the Rolex conference that a lot of the managers attended this week.

Goldsmiths Metrocentre

Andrew

Have you worked out the numbers on the side of the white outer box?

Mine also came from the Aurum Group conference to Mappin & Webb.

Congratulations guys... How do you feel about the cyclops on this model? I'm interested to see how many have it removed.

And cover up the date wheel to make it a "true divers' watch" while you're at it? ;-)

The cyclops is part of the watch. The cyclops is Rolex. Personally, I think it's great on the SD50.

Just picked up mine, love the watch but that bloody cyclops is the only reservation that I have. A 'dweller shouldn't have a wonky eye!!

Rumour is that it will be limited in numbers as it's a 50th Anniversary model and then the next dial will be white lettering only.

Other rumour is that there was a mistake in allocation so a lot of those bound for the US ended up in the UK...believe of that what you want, I dunno!

Not necessarily mate, I'm not knocking the watch. I actually quite like it but 43mm would be too big for me personally. The reason why I asked is because in terms of the history of the Sea Dweller, the cyclops is a big change.

If you are being that decision on pictures, definitely try to get one on your wrist. Im not a big guy, and don't have large wrist by any means, but the SD43 feels great on the wrist and doesn't look out of place. If its based on personal preference or experience, more power to you though.

I would agree. I love the added cyclops. This is personally one of my favorite watches.

I asked Lindsay (my cousin) the store manager at the metro centre about the SD43, and her reply was..

Quote:
We got 1 per store as a gift from rolex to ensure we were the first authorised dealers to be able to supply our clients with them. That probably would be about 25. The availability will be the same as the daytona launched last year

It won't hurt much that the Americans should be brought into line with the rest of the world.
Probably about time

I reckon they are within 1mm of each other, the SD43 and SD4k!

Congratulations

A huge congratulations to everyone and the new SD43 has inspired me to work harder and be able to afford one someday. I have my perfect everyday comfortable wearing Rolex that can fit most occasion s for a 7 inch wrist. It would be so cool to have a SD43 for wearing one or two days in the week.
