Explorer I in Hong Kong

This might be a long shot but if anyone sees a 214270 in AD let me know please.

I'm located in Hong Kong and been to/called quite a few ADs and all of them told me there's waiting list for it.

I would prefer buying from ADs but without any purchase history this is seemingly impossible...

Any trusted grey dealers I should try?

Thanks

What has this world come to now... even waiting list for an Exp 1. I would try the shops in Champaign Court in the TST area. Pricey but legit.

Best of luck!

Not only Explorers 1... SS Datejusts (36 and 41) are just as hard to come by at (some) Hong Kong ADs nowadays.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will surely have a look at Champaign Court. An AD I visited said the wait time would be "2 years".

Most desirable dial SS DJ 41, are very hard to come by in Singapore now.

If Rolex are still producing 800k pieces a year, I sometimes wonder where they go.

Meanwhile grey dealers next door will have a vast selection of any SS sport models one can think of... one does wonder where they get their unless supply

You should be able to get a brand new exp1 from a grey dealer in hk near retail price. Most probably will be HK market watch too. You can tell by the 888 number prefix on the warranty card.

You'll find it tough to walk in and get one. If they are offering to take your details, you should leave them.

Thank you I’ll have a look into some of the grey dealers recommended here on TRF. I originally wanted to “build a relationship” with an AD but without purchasing a couple datejusts this now seems unrealistic.

In Singapore, I have been contacting various ADs (which 2 I have purchase history with), patiently waiting for a year or so and still not in sight...

I have seen a couple people here on TRF that have gotten lucky and was able to find an Explorer sitting at an AD (in Hong Kong). Unfortunately that has not been the case for me....maybe one day

The struggles of falling in love with non precious metal Rolexs..

Best of luck to you

If the greys pricing isn't too ridiculous, then I would just bite and go for it, afterall soon enough with future prices rises to list price, buying at reasonable grey's won't seem such a bad move.

Or, be patient and wait wait wait at a local AD with broken promises to when it's available and see 1,2, or 3 price rises inbetween!!.

Good luck and update us on your decision.
