Full RG Rootbeer or WG Daydate?

I know you would say buy what you like but between the two what would you choose if you wanted a full PM as your next watch from the AD

My current watches are Panda, Starbucks and Pepsi all Stainless Steel.

I think the majority of people here would say the Daydate, but I think the RG Rootbeer is the best looking pm Rolex, so that would be my choice.

This is exactly. I agree 100%. Even though the OP already has a GMT.

I have mostly s/s and also t/t watches. When I went full pm I took the rose gold route because I like it on my t/t rootbeer, it's quite pink.

As a t/t rootbeer owner I can say that'd be my preference out of the two.

I like the variety. all that said I like my rings to match so that's added a bit of a cost because I had to get more. Most folks aren't phased by the matchy matchy OCD thing though.

really they're both epic, but methinks rose or yellow for variety is not a bad idea.

On its own, I would go RG Rootbeer. As part of your current collection, I would go Day-Date.

I try not to double up on complications.

RG is too pink to me. I did own the CHNR and enjoyed it but the SS helped. I think a WG DD is the bomb but I prefer a more subdued look.

WG DD would be my vote, especially since you already have 3 sports watches. I think that would add a nice variety to your collection. My choice would be either the blue or olive dial with the deconstructed Romans.

I have the RG RB and adore it! I was worried about the “pink tone” to it esp being I’m a pinkish skin tone but i love it. I had the D40 WG olive dial and hated the fit of the watch. I was in between links and found it wore really small.

RG as its a great watch that goes under the radar and its not as in your face gold as YG.

Also you have enough silver coloured watches and so RG would be an option as opposed to WG.

However you do have a GMT and not a Day-Date, so ....... you decide.

WG DD with a nice dial something that pops, with your current collection. A nice dress watch. I like the stealth wealth look of the DD in WG. The dial is what will take it over the top.

The RG GMT is very sharp too, but you are already have the Pepsi as your GMT.

The most important thing is buy what you like!, you may prefer the sports models more.

Cheers,

Since your collection are mostly sports models for variety I will pick WG DD.

Ur collection is almost so complete. I love both but Day Date to add the fluted and then after you’ll yearn for the RG GMT as you’ll get the PM bug

I bought the BLRO and the RG GMT as a bundle in 2018, with the RG on hand I had no interest in using the BLRO!! Really stunning watch, but so is the day date.

But why not a rose gold day date? Best of both worlds. The white gold day date wears a LOT like a datejust fyi.

Can't go wrong with either but given your current collection I'd go with the Day Date.

Looking at your collection, you should lean towards the DD

How about a little color rather than the SS or white gold look? It would be a great addition and a great option to have in your collection.

For me, in a vacuum, RG RB > WG DD. That said, I was basically in the same place and I went YG DD40. If there ever was a watch to go YG it'd be the DD, but that is my favorite metal so I am biased. Having the Pepsi, I feel the RB is a tad redundant and the DD, any variation really, would be a better complement.

I would go YG DD. Change up the metal and get an iconic watch.

Of your choices…DD. You’ve got the professional models covered. Although the RG provides a nice option from SS as far as color variety.

Me personally…I think a Daytona, Sub/sea-dweller/YM, GMT, and DD40, is pretty much an ultimate Rolex collection, if keeping a reasonably small collection.
I’d personally go with a YG DD40.

Totally agree with this. I have a Sub and Pepsi Jubilee and the only models I want to add is a Panda Daytona and a WG DD with either Blue or Olive dials.

I think the DD makes more sense, but it would depend on what dial you're looking at.

I’d go Day Date for sure. I’d probably either go YG if you want a more contrasting color of metal in your line up or I’d go PT for the glacier dial

Good luck and keep us posted

As a first choice, I would get a DD over a PM Oyster model. The DD is much more wearable and is not so much of a scratch magnet. The key is to get a good fit with a DD as there is no micro adjustments.
