Service: Seiko Kinetic
Hallo,
I own 2 seiko kinetic watches. One Artura Auto Relay, and one Premier Perpetual. My question is if these watches require regular service and how often? Thank you |

I don't know but I can tell you a friends father passed and my
friend wanted his watch (a seiko kinetic). It had sat for a few mths and then when he tried to wear it, it would not work. He sent it to Seiko and they wanted a fortune to fix it (almost as much as it was new). He was very upset and now just keeps it sitting in a drawer not working. Most people I know that have them love them but it doesnt seem Seiko service is all that great... |

I`m long time Seiko fan, and I own many of their watches, both automatic and quartz, but I don`t know anything about servicing kinetic movement!
All I know (and I know it for sure, because my friend is one of the Seiko`s official retailer) is that kinetic (like common quartz) sometimes needs a battery change! That happens mostly when watch is not worn for a long time! Battery switching should be done in official Seiko service, and those batteries are more expensive than regular, for quartz movements. They cost between 20 - 40 $, maybe even less.

Not knocking Seiko at all, they are great but this is why I do not like that sort of technology in a watch. Hope you figure it out and havr the problem resolved for a reasonable price.
