Which brand has the best rubber band?

After experiencing enough of it, I feel AP - particularly the Royal Oak Offshore line - has the best feel for rubber band. It's bulkier than most, and maybe that's a personal taste. Next maybe Vacheron especially the new Overseas generation.

Any other opinion? Summer time is here and I am getting more curious as I've been wearing rubber bands a lot more often now.

I probably like the offshore 43 rubber best.
I also have two oysterflex, aquanaut, panerais and they’re all fine.

I know this is an entire different class of watch, but the strap and clasp of the Omega Aqua Terra is amazingly comfortable.

AP for me. I didn’t care for oysterflex texture and VC was too firm.

It’s proprietary so probably doesn’t count but the oysterflex from Rolex is the best in the business. The build quality with titanium blade inserts along with customized fit that fits your wrist is just amazing, combining this with the buckle which has glidelock, nothing in the industry really even comes close to getting this level of comfort and security.

Rolex is ahead of others that are just a piece of rubber / plastic / whatever. Especially at the $200+ ask for a piece of rubber / plastic / whatever. Another factor is that the rubber's color -- from one color to another strap of a different color -- could feel different. jmho

Honestly I don’t understand rubber straps

Leave plastic and rubber for swatch and G-shock
They look cheap and they are cheap

Why the hell can a high end watch be punished that bad to put it on that rubber crap

It’s like wearing a made to measure Kiton suit and choose rubber crocs to wear under your fantastic suit.

I do not think the rubber straps are that bad.

Oysterflex with its Ti core trumps them all.

Another vote for Rolex’s oysterflex—the wings on it are amazing. I have the VC overseas, a Patek aquanaut, JLC Polaris. None is as comfortable as the times I’ve tried the Rolex.

Omega's rubber strap. The Omega deployant is also excellent.

Original Panerai Luminor rubber strap is perfect. I wear it with my 232 also.

Looks very basic but it's actually pretty supple and have a fantastic feeling on the wrist.

My best so far.

As some have indicated, the AP ROO rubber is very comfortable. I have also handled RM rubber strap which is comfortable too.

I actually feel that the ROO rubber strap is too stiff and does not conform to the wrist too well. Aquanaut and VC Overseas have the same issue.

The MB&F EVO, Greubel Forsey have very supple rubber straps. And recently, my wife acquired a Hermes Cut with a very supple and nice rubber strap.

Breguet has a nice one too.

I am now thinking, is there a brand that does NOT have nice rubber?

I like rubber a lot but there's only so much you can do with it. Pretty much any FKM rubber strap will feel great. My ~$10 Juelong AliExpress tropic rubber straps feel just as good as my $100 - $150 ones have.

And I don't notice enough of a difference to go OEM personally, or I hate the OEM straps with giant logos on them. They look horrible with a giant logo.

Are they pricey to replace?

I think people paying $100K + for a watch have a different definition of "pricey" in regards to items like rubber straps.

The issue is supply, it is very difficult to source them from the AD, certainly harder than it used to be. If I recall correctly, cost was ~$800 for rubber straps. They go for $1500-$3k on the grey market, not much different than say a green aquanaut rubber strap on the grey market.

That’s really not bad. That green aquanaut strap was going bananas for a while.
