Appraisal for Insurance Purposes
Anyone have advice on how to obtain an appraisal for insurance purposes? I just completed an even trade (D serial Explorer for D serial Sub ND). As a result I have no bill of sale. I need an appraisal for the retail replacement value to add the rider to my insurance.
Thanks |

All you need is a "Certificate of Authenticity" from your AD with the details and price of the watch on it.
I got this one from my AD when I purchased my TT Blue Sub in December '06. JJ

This got me interested too.
How does he get an appraisal if you did an even trade? Just go to any AD and request one? |

I believe that a Rolex would not be hard to appraise, but the condition would be the main question.

Would an AD charge one if they didn't purchase the Rolex from them?
Anyone have one appraised and charged by an AD here in the USA? |

I recieved an appraisal from my AD in the mail 2 weeks after I purchased my SS Sub Date at no charge. I wasn't even expecting it, so it was a nice suprise.
